Looks pretty solid to me. Would the barbs mess up invertibility?

I don't think so. they're removable, so if I fight something that can flip me I can take them off.

Too much friction on the blade. Taking off the very top washer gives me enough free space that it can spin freely.

how's the wedge doing? it looks like by folding in the sides the ground clearance is increased. gonna shave off those corners so the wedge can lay flush?
