THE Best (and hardest) racing game ever. 30 hovercrafts racing at >1000 KPH on maniacal tracks with scenery so great you'll want to pause the game to look at them. 9 years old next year but still great.

Also, I'm running a fantasy version on GTM. Full rules will be up later for those interested.

WipEout hovercraft can go over 2000kph. =D

I've not actually played F-Zero either. Although I can sort of play the Big Blue theme on the guitar, after one of my mates found some tablature for it.

RULES FOR ANYONE INTERESTED

-Design a machine for yourself. IT MUST BE A HOVERCRAFT.

-Assign stats. Ratings are from A to E, A being best and E being worst.
-Body: Your car's HP. A is bulletproof, E is DSA in DSL. If you get hit in a race, you will lose energy and if you run out of energy your car cannot move and is disqualified.
-Boost: The speed your vehicle boosts at. A is hyper speed, E is a minimal but still significant increase. Boosting also depletes energy. The higher your Boost rating, the less each boost will deplete your energy.
Grip: Basically handling. A will give you firm control, while E is like driving on ice.

Also you need to assign your car a weight, anywhere from 900 to 2500 kg.

-Please be realistic with your stat values and not give a 900 kg car an A rating in Body, or a 2500 kg car an E in body.

-You are allowed up to 11 points in your car's stats (A is 5, B is 4, C is 3, etc.). Only 1 A rating allowed.

-Remember that weight and design matter. Your car's shape will have an impact on the car's performance.

-You need a name and a picture for your driver and vehicle. A little backstory on your driver is appreciated.

-A track will be announced once a week, and you will have to RP a strategy for your machine for that course.

-Points:

-There will be 26 races in the schedule, AKA all 5 cups (yes AX is here) from F-Zero GX, plus the "Mute City: Sonic Oval" course from Mission 1, which will be the first course. The tracks get progressively harder as the series goes on.

-30 spots are available.

-You need to assign your driver a number from 01 to 30 (1-9 are 01-09). This number must be visible on your car.

-You must provide at least 2 angles of your car, so I can get a good understanding of what it looks like.

-No entering a vehicle from the video games, your car must be an original creation.

-Registration ends December 31, 2011 at 12:00 PM EST.

RP RULES:
-At the start of your RP, you must say what your car's engine setting will be. There are two sides: Acceleration and Speed. Like say "70% acceleration" will be decent acceleration at the cost of lots of speed.

-The body of the RP should be a strategy for the course. Like say "I'll take this first turn nice and easy, to hold out on taking damage. Then once I get up to speed, try to overtake as many people as possible before the U-turn, and try to slow down and take the turn. Then zip up to top speed and take the jump."

-Remember you can't boost until the second lap.

-your finish position determines your start place for the next race (it's reversed finishing order)

-As in ARC, you cannot reference opponent's RP's. If I see you have referenced said RP, you must rewrite the strategy or face a DQ.

-You can kill other machines, and you can just say "kill ______". If the other person doesn't say to dodge attacks, you will kill the machine if you come close in the race.

-There is no "snaking". Any strategy saying anything about snaking will be instantly DQ'd.
