A.R.C. - Listen Here, Grandad... V. Imperator

LISTEN HERE, GRANDAD... - 10/8/3/1/8 (+2 wedge or forks)

IMPERATOR - 7/6/3/4/10 (+2 front wedge)

oh. that's a 3-point disparity between it's speed and traction, factoring in the point-loss that mecanums have*

(*although nothing's stopping it from just driving slower, so i'll have to watch out for that if siobhan does so. this part can stay because i misremembered that omnis have a torque point loss, not traction)[/size]

HOWEVER, we're both evenly-matched in torque, and i believe they might be going for grandad's wedge config? either way or, if it comes to a pushing match (i don't think it will, but there's an off-chance it may happen), it's going to win the wedge war against me.

that being said--funny omniwheel thwack-puncher combo i'm going up against. i'm not sure if siobhan's betting on using grandad as a thwack against me, but there's a decent off-chance it will. grandad's sheer traction disparity might be my best friend ~2 point traction disparity, there's no way in hell i'll be able to outspeed them, but as long as i keep my front pointed towards them w/ awareness that it's going to try to slink by my sides and try to drive me into the walls and/or disrupt my position on the ground, i should be gravy. if i DO get punched or wedged, back off and/or try to gyrodance off of it.

chasing it around is a futile effort, so i'm going have to wait for them to come to ME, and then attempt to chain-hit it around the arena. because of the knockback--it should be easy for me to capitalize on the openings as they attempt to recover or are skidding around. it should be a decent match of me juggling them around the arena, but what i want to do is to OOTA it because i do not think this'll play in my favor if this match does go to the judges.

unless i'm going for the OOTA shot or pinning it against the drum, stay near the center of the arena so i don't get pinned on the walls myself. be aggressive, but don't be greedy at the same time. play when i need to, be smart about this. gyrodance to help me face them, and watch for monkey business.

good luck!

Forks

The main goal here is to not get chain hit around a bunch - go in from the sides a good deal of the time, because why wouldn’t i use my speed advantage. I can also thwack more often than usual: the back end of their wedges are exposed at the corners, meaning i can very effectively knock her bot off course with even a single revolution thwack.

Approaching with the puncher out is also an option but is kind of telegraphing my options in this fight (can’t thwack in that position). Try it if thwacking more aggressively doesn’t work out so well.

If inverted try to use drums to self right with my puncher fully forwards, if near the drums. If not tbh see if i can still just get to her side/angle anyway: the side forks work ok inverted and I’ll still have a thwack
