A.R.C. Week 1 // Mortuary vs V-TEC

Post by YSMQTHLQYH » Wed May 08, 2024 8:56 pm

Mortuary: 4/3/1/15/7 horizontal spinner
"big weapon config without wheelguards"
V-TEC: 5/5/2/10/8 4-bar flipper
plow config

wide plow + being faster + perfekt kontroll = i should reliably be able to take the hits with the plow
plow only takes 3 damage from the spinner and i should be fine with the shock damage

I deal 3 or 4 damage per flip (dont rember if i get corner damage bonus), not that much unless it lands wheels first, and it just so happens that gyro makes it more likely for that to happen.

If its upside down i should be able to get under the spinner (probably scratches the top of my plow but whatever), it's then high centered too so i can freely move it around.

Plan?? Do the wedgebot thing and ram into it, only once the disk is scrapping against my plow instead of bouncing off fire my flipper, repeat if it lands spinner side down. If it lands inverted try to get under and push it around, if that works just push it so it's lined up for an oota shot and you know the deal.

Eventually i'll get the oota win or it's wheel axles are going to snap after some flips. If you don't believe in either of those i just win jd you know how.

Looks like the stats are already posted, I'll put bot photos here.

This is going to be fun. I'm assuming they're going to try and box rush right out the gate, but they are only a little faster than I am, 12mph vs 14mph, with them having slightly better acceleration. That being said, I'm starting the fight spinning up, waiting to see where they're going. If they go straight, I'll go left, if they try something funky, I'll go the opposite direction. This should mean I'll be getting chased by them, and I'll sit there if they don't, waiting for them to come to me. Now that they're on the chase, closing the gap, I'll turn around, into the front of their plow, making sure my weapon's at full speed beforehand. I'm going to do this trick whenever I have the opportunity to. Each hit for me is 3 damage on that plow, and 3 shock damage at least. These full power hits should be big, large enough to give me the space to spin back up and hit again. If I'm not spinning, find a way to get spinning. Every hit I dish out is going to wear out that wedge lip, and it only takes me getting under once to be able to hit their chassis and knock them out. I haven't addressed their weapon so far, but I don't intend to get flipped because of horizontal stability. If I find myself upside down, try and convince them to the center of the arena, and get them to flip me back over. If they play wedge, I'll make sure to be at full speed before making a quick turn, essentially divebombing onto them and hopefully back upright. Aside from that, just avoid the hazards, avoid getting OOTA'd, and overall make sure every interaction is on my terms, however chaotic it may be. TLDR: Make space, do fancy maneuvers, and cause chaos.

Good luck YSM, may this be a great first match for a possible rebirth of Advanced Robot Combat.
