Team Fox Presents: Carnage At The Arcade!

Post by Botomatic1000 » Wed Mar 06, 2019 10:34 am

Image
After a long long break to focus on the company's buisnesses and the failure of our last tournament due to unfortunate disagreements with the host of the venue (how dare they advertise a Flymo!) Team Fox has returned to the sport of robot combat with a new event for the masses!
Image
Special thanks to The Birmingham Arcade Restoration Brigade for allowing us to use a bit of there freed up public space at there gorgeous venue! Though, admittedly, the space is limited and that is why we will only be running some of our smaller classes, rather than the largest class our arena can handle (that being Middleweights). This event shall be for both Hobbyweights and Featherweights
Image
We shall be using the standard Team Fox 'touring' arena with OOTA zones all around that require a flipper power of at least 6 (since these are quite small robots... Hobbies especially and this arena was meant to handle Middleweights after all. The only arena hazards are the starting corner pits which will open up during the final minute of the match. Matches are three minutes in length and will be judged in the same style as the judging in AWS with no points. The three judges will decide a winner and whoever has the most 'Judge Votes' wins.

DEADLINE: I dunno lol... whenever CBC is over and the entries are full lmao

Signup Info
-16 entries in each bracket
-Single elimination Hobbyweight and Featherweight tournament
-30 points split into the 5 categories: Speed, Traction, Torque, Armour and Weapon
-No Meltybrain Spinners
-No projectiles, explosives, entanglement devices, radio jammers, and liquid weapons
-No flying bots, drone minibots and Hovercrafts
-Walkers will get a 2 point bonus but will be capped to a maximum speed of 4 and Shufflers will get a 1 point bonus
-Multibots must split the 30 points between them (yeah yeah a bit unfair I know but... whatever)
-No specific rules on saws I'll be deciding how much damage it can do depending on weapon stats
-If a robot is too unrealistic for it's class I will not be afraid to reject it
-Pneumatic flippers must have viable space for a full pneumatic system within them. If a flipper is unreasonably designed it will be penalised with less Co2 capacity
-As stated previously, flippers must have a weapon power of 6 or more to score a successful OOTA
-Interchangeable bots shall not have attachment's which alter a robot's drive stats of Speed, Traction and Torque
-You may enter a single entry per class only. You can enter both or just one of the classes if you wish
-Expect Grudge Match opportunities and a First Round Flop Rumble for both classes

Here is my Hobbyweight: HERESY
Screenshot_89.png
Screenshot_89.png (786.67 KiB) Viewed 6641 times
It has a spread of
13 speed
10 traction
3 torque
4 armor
Why does it have such weird stats? Because it's meant to go as fast as possible because it's got next to no armor and it wants to live
Here is WEEEEEEDGE, My featherweight for this
Weeeeeeeedge-1.png
Weeeeeeeedge-1.png (428.08 KiB) Viewed 6129 times
It has a spread of
6 speed
5 traction
6 torque
13 armor
The wedgelets and the big wedge are both hinged and it is indeed a SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE clone, except this one has 2 wheels. This has long wedgelets so that it can get under and push other robots around.

Sing me up for both.

HbW: BRICK
Image
2WD wedge
It's a brick, with wheels, it also has a big wedge made out of thick titanium.
not much else to say really.
Stats:
Speed: 7
Traction: 6
Torque: 4
Weapon: 0
Armor: 13(+4 to wedge)

If no one enters any spinners in this weight class i might change this entry

FW: Stardust Reverie
You know what, i gonna enter this instead of my X-axis drum just because i like this render.

Tombclone, it has a stupid statline that forced a rule change in Reckoning but i see nothing stopping me from doing the same here considering this event's rules.
Speed: 4
Traction: 2
Torque: 1
Weapon: 17
Armor: 6(+2 to weapon)

Hobbyweight:
OverGutter
Overchopper_Mark_II-1.png
Overchopper_Mark_II-1.png (22.63 KiB) Viewed 6440 times
A Hobbyweight version of our successful signature Heavyweight, OverChopper, OverGutter is named like other robots in the OverChopper series. Named based on synonyms of chopping or cutting.

Anyway, this bot features a hard hitting bar like a typical deathspinner, with a nut on it that allows selfrighting (which should have theoretically worked on the SHW OverCleaver too). It also has 4WD, as well as wheelguards around it. It features a static wedge on the front, with two hinged wedgelets that can move 15 degrees downward.

Stats: 3/2/1/16/8 (+1 wedge)

Featherweight:
Blowtorch FW

sketch-1552137654473.png (335 KiB) Viewed 6440 times
A Featherweight version of our Midleweight bot, Blowtorch, it is a 2WD wedgebot with two flamethrowers, inspired by Crash n Burn. The wedgelets are hinged 20 degrees downward from position showed in the pic, while the rest of the spinner killing wedge is static, but armored. It is also invertible.

Stats: 7/6/3/3/11 (+2 wedge)

(Our team name is Team Eagle Robotics by the way)

HOBBYWEIGHT: Visual Assault

Speed: 9
Traction: 7
Torque: 3
Weapon: 5
Armor: 6 (+2 front)

360 lifter. there's 2 weapon arm options, in case you somehow didnt notice that.

FEATHERWEIGHT: Tanngrisnir

The manta walking system might be officially classified as a shuffler now, but it's still damned stable for such an archetype so why not still use it?

Image
Image

it's an overhead bar spinner. it hit things. it's got wimpy ass little hinged wedges that are honestly mostly there because straight up body body looks real ugly. maybe I'll try and give it a dope ass horned front....

Speed: 3
Traction: 2
Torque: 1
Weapon: 17
Armor: 8 (+3 weapon)

FW: Tree Surgeon 2
Tree Surgeon pics
ImageFront
ImageSide
ImageOblique
Speed: 5 | Traction: 3 | Torque: 1 | Weapon: 11 (10/10 chainsaws, free 3-pt arm per rules) | Armour: 10 (+2 Brown Bits)

Returning with a highly revamped setup in no way inspired by a certain Mr. J. Go, Tree Surgeon 2 is sporting the two most powerful chainsaws in featherweight robot combat history, which is a bit like calling someone "the most beautiful girl in the burns unit". The most obvious point of departure from the previous model is the chainsaw, both in number and orientation, but the drivetrain has been altered from tank tracks to 2WD for a much improved wedging game aided by the stabilizing tail. The wedge forks are also serrated, meaning that in theory it's harder for opponents to get off as they snag in wheel bays and so forth, thus meaning that we can go full Razer and have the opponent beached on the wedge taking more and more damage for the entire fight. Finally, the slightly underwhelming snaptrap mechanism is no more, replaced with an actuated arm that (whilst slower) is a lot more reliable. This is a much-improved machine and one that, almost uniquely among Team Worst Swordsman's stable, has some hopes of troubling the playoff berths in a manner beyond simply playing spoiler to more conventional robots. We do things differently around here, and while that usually means "badly", it doesn't have to any more. =]

HBW: Fraxious
Fraxious pics
ImageAxe config front
ImageAxe config side
ImageAxe config oblique
ImageControl config front
ImageControl config side
ImageControl config oblique
ImageControl config oblique, spike fully extended
Axe Config (30):
Speed: 7 | Traction: 5 | Torque: 1 | Weapon: 12 | Armour: 5

Control Config (28):
Speed: 7 | Traction: 5 | Torque: 1 | Weapon: 7 (5 horizontal crusher, 5 spike) | Armour: 8 (+3 crusher)

Fraxious isn't a death puncher, at least in its hobbyweight incarnation. Instead, it's a 2WD machine with a trio of interchangeable weapon pods, with the pneumatic system and drive in the back of the bot. The axe is theoretically capable of spinning through about 300 degrees; however, this will normally be stopped by the floor getting in the way. It's fast and manoeuvrable, though the machine's armour leaves something to be desired; however, its control configuration sports an extremely sturdy horizontal crusher that forms the bulk of the machine's defences. No, it isn't made of toothbrushes. If it was, we would have called it Hobart. =]
