It's back. Hold on to yer hats, folks.

----

RUINATION: THE OMEN

DEADLINE FOR SIGN-UPS: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 2013

Basic/old set of guidelines can be found below. They are very similar except for a different stat system.

http://z10.invisionfree.com/Drowning_Ci ... wtopic=753

Deviations from the above guidelines

- Stat system

- There are NO stat bonuses. At all. No hammer gets a bonus. No spinner gets a bonus. Period. The (kinda) exceptions are dumb thwacks. Dumb thwacks rely on speed and traction for their theoretical weapon power, so their power is (speed+traction)/2, rounded up to the nearest whole number; thus, the bonus. Overhead thwacks are the same, except their power is halved again before being rounded up to the nearest whole number, so a bonus does not apply to them. (thanks to Fish of Doom for that one)

- Weapons (all weapons; not just axes) on turrets get one point deducted from them.

Robots that are banned
Flying robots
Hovercrafts
Clusterbots that don't have the same motivation in all parts. (i.e.: one part is a wheeled robot, the other is a walker)
<del>Underall</del>

Sign-up Info

- Everyone enters a total of four bots, one from each weight class (Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Superheavyweight) and assigns them stats using 30 points per bot. Points will be divvied up by 6 categories:

-Speed
-Traction
-Torque
-Wedge Effectiveness
-Armor
-Weapon Power

Note: Armor and Wedge Effectiveness may not exceed 16 points combined.

- The battles will take place in a Round Robin style (as opposed to the traditional tournament style) in which each bot will face every other bot once with playoffs afterward to determine the champion of each weight class. The playoffs will consists of 8 bots per class, with the top 4 bots in each conference. The #1 seed will fight the #4 seed and #2 will fight #3. The winners of those will then fight to determine the conference winners/Finalists. Obviously, the winner of the Final is the weight division champion.

- No double entering the competition (which means no smurf accounts or anything like that).

LW- Tornedron
Image
Psyclone returns to the fray, completely rebuilt since its appearance in The Beginning. Whilst it maintains the basic 4WD Ring Spinner design with the Ripping Teeth (Designed to carve into armour plates and pull them off, a la HypnoDisc from Series 4 onwards), its internal protection has taken a backseat to a much more powerful motor for the spinner and adjustable defence against overhead weaponry such as axes and crushers, along with greatly improved speed and traction to enable it to hit harder and faster. These new changes allow it to fight more aggressively than before, making it that bit more dangerous.

Just in case you're wondering about the name, it's named after Tornedron, a Demigod-like energy being from The Transformers.

Speed- 5
Traction- 6
Torque- 1
Armour- 4
Weapon- 14 (Spinning Ring with specially-designed Ripping Teeth, optional blades to stop overhead weaponry)
Wedge- 0

Notes- Is invertible. Can equip optional blades to intercept and potentially destroy overhead weaponry such as axes, but loses its ability to run inverted in return. Spinning Ring is armoured 15 due to the weapon-armour rule.

MW- Lyra
Image
Image
Lyra makes her debut as the first Pony to enter an ARC competition. Inspired by Teresa's uncanny amount of success in LORE, she is a very low and hard-to-hit design, predominantly based around the ideals of good defence and wedgability from a series of sprung skirts all round for protection against wedges, along a nicely balanced degree of speed, traction and torque from her four wheel drive.

Her main weapon is concealed in the front wedge- an angled Spawn of Scutter-esque Pneumatic "Horn" with a hardened tip that fires out with a ton of pressure, well-suited for both piercing and flipping. This is complemented by a static Ramming Blade "Tail" and low-mounted pushing scoop on the back to sort out spinners and Draconequui.
Finished up with a lovely minty green coat, custom-etched Lyre cutie marks around the sides, and running on a lightweight yet very strong frame held together with special Canterlot-shipped Wonder Bolts

Team Blood Gulch

LW: Spike
The old shame of Team Blood Gulch makes a surprise reappearance! Now with 100% more wheels, for substantially less fail! It's a fully invertible ring spinner with blades at the center at North and South, and high and low at East and West.

Speed: 5
Weapon: 16
Armor: 5
Traction: 3
Torque: 1
Wedge: 0
Image

MW: The Green Hornet
It's your basic undercutting disc spinner that's fully invertible. Also, it's green and packs a hell of a sting.

Speed: 5
Weapon: 14
Armor: 6
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Wedge: 0
Image

HW: Ridley
A powerful dual-bar spinner. On his back he features a hinged thwacking tail with lots of spikes along the length of it so it can hit effectively pretty much anywhere. Fully invertible.

Speed: 6
Weapon: 13
Armor: 6
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Wedge: 0
Image

SHW: Jack Frost
The prominent former champion from Team Gemini has a new home, but retains all it's deadly power. It's a two wheeled bot with a large undercutting disc which can function as an over cutter inverted and some minor wedge protection on the rear.

Speed: 5
Weapon: 13
Armor: 6
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Wedge: 1

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Team Ignition

Lightweight: Smoke & Mirrors
Image
(Thanks to Nick FX for the render)
Clusterbot! You thought one BlackRose was annoying? Have two of them! Both sides have hinged wedges, one side of each is a scoop. If you can't tell, Smoke is grey and Mirrors is silver. The side skirts are hinged as well, and they work just as well inverted.

Speed: 5
Weapon: 0
Armor: 7 (+1 to the scoop)
Traction: 4
Torque: 2
Wedge Effectiveness: 4

MW: The "No" Patrol

My first ever non-WhipCoil MW takes the field. 4WD with a spinning ring and front wedge. The wedge is hinged in such a way so that it cannot jam the ring when inverted.

Weapon: 13
Armor: 5
Traction:4
Torque: 1

HW: Grave Robber

Finally using this thing. Generic bar spinner of generic doom. Hopefully will cause some sort of chaos, unlike 90% of my other heavies...

SHW: Phantasmic Slammer

(Thanks again to Kody for the render)
Back once again, now with wedge teeth that aren't flat! Still a pneumatic Ziggy-style flipper with rear spikes. The wedge teeth are removable in case it comes up against some sort of spinny thing.

Armor-8 (+1 to the front of the lifter, -1 everywhere else)

Can you say OVERHAUL? Still 4WD, still with the same Awesome Rotating Death Object Thing, but now featuring hinged wedges on all sides (attached to some steel wire to ensure it doesn't move into the path of the weapon). Also slightly faster, and also with a totally new weapon motor casing and positioning. The weapon runs around a hollow axle through which the casing/motor is mounted, and the motor drives it through a gearing system, so the motor is positioned in the center of the machine, as is the axis of the weapon. Which is now pink! The only thing better than pink is more pink. Should still be able to self-right by kicking itself over with the bar.

Arm: 8 (+1 Front Wedge)

The Middleweight Champion of Ruination: The Beginning is back to defend its crown! Sporting tougher armour, and a sturdier single front wedge piece, much like Copperhead's wedge/wheelguard combo. Also with two NEW small supplementary wedge pieces at a shallower angle to help in getting under opponents. There is a small balance caster near the back of the tail as well, to keep the front wedge down, and the tail is also hinged, so it's able to get under opponents should needs be, even if the robot is turned upside-down. It can also as act as a rudimentary thwack, and the tail fin has been redesigned so it's sleeker, hopefully more effective, and just looks cooler. The two catching teeth and the supplementary wedges on the front are removable if required, so I can have wedges, teeth, both or neither during a fight. FOR SCOTLAND. I think some music is in order.

The Four-Bar Flipper of Fury returns for another shot at the Heavyweight crown, this time with increased Speed and Traction, with a slightly less powerful flipper. Still capable of self-righting, though. Should give me more of a chance to maintain control over my opponents. Still has the 2WD, still has the all-around hinged skirting, and still has the underside suction fan forcing the skirts into the ground and suppying the compressed air tanks for the flipper. Exhaust/excess is vented through a pressure release valve to the tips of the horns for some amusement, and the side name lights up in one of 25 colours with strobe and spectrum features.

New(ish) 4WD lifter design. Meant to sneak its fangs into any gaps in the opponent's defenses it can find, and then take control of it. Fully invertible, works exactly the same regardless of which way up it is. Lifter can go through 180 degrees to vertical either way up. If all else fails, the fangs can be used as spikes to pierce weaker armour. Smaller spikes on the forks are there to stop any opponents who might be thinking of heading straight up and over. Two square spikes on each corner, so eight in total, for a little extra damage, or added purchase when pushing an opponent around.

TEAM ZLAYERZ

Lightweight
Scarab (III)

Image
Rear view: http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6813/icwc.png

Scarab goes from an eggbeater to a drum. Eh. Still will do nice damage. The rear srimech is still there. Modeled by NFX, and rendered in Rhino 5.0/Flamingo nXt for maximum realistic goodness!

Speed: 5
Torque: 1
Traction: 3
Wedge: 1
Armour: 4
Weapon: 16

----

----

Middleweight
Solve et Coagula

Image

4WD three-way clamper. The crusher/clamp is attached to a lifting mechanism that can travel all the way around the robot. Fully capable of starting inverted. Features side spikes to preventing stranding, affectionately shaped in the manner of the Team Zlayerz logo. Will always have at least one tire touching the ground at all times. Very, VERY torque-y. Watch out.

Speed: 6
Torque: 4
Traction: 5
Wedge: 1
Weapon: 6
Armour: 8

----

Heavyweight
Cutie Honey (II)

Image
Rear view: http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/805/813u.png

Cutie Honey returns to get her tiara back. Still has 1 wedge point! :o And 2WD! This time, however, there is a clear ability to thwack!

Note: The rear view shows she looks like she might wheelie. However, a lot of the weight is at the front and where the wheels are. There isn't enough to detriment her turning, but enough to prevent a wheelie.

Note #2: The wedges and spikes are part of the flipper. She can switch that flipper for one without spikes, wedges, or either.

Speed: 10
Torque: 2
Traction: 9
Wedge: 1
Armour: 6 (+2 to the flipper)

Superheavyweight
Teresa (II)

Image

Rear view: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/9449/avgj.png
Scoop set-up: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/918/j989.png

Teresa is an invertible 2WD angled octal shape, similar to Turtle Road Kill, but even lower and with more leverage. This time around, the body wedges are even lower at a formidable 10 degrees at the bottom, angling up to a perpendicular angle with the floor, near the top. This, combined with the octal shape, makes it extremely difficult for a horizontal spinner to really do much damage. On top of that, there is a scoop set-up explicitly for horizontal spinners, as well as axes that she can block using the scoop. The scoop is very convex and angled incredibly low to the ground, so there is pretty much nothing for a spinner to grab onto. It protects the whole front of the machine, plus a bit of the sides. Thus, spinners won't do as much damage.

The most noticeable feature, however, is the hidden spike within the lifter, run off high-pressure pneumatics. Simply put, I lift the opponent up and then fire the spike - OUCH! - right into their underbelly. Due to the stat system allowing pneumatic spikes to pierce enemy regardless of the armour value, and the stat I gave the weapon power, I can pierce any armour by about 2 inches. Combine that with the fact that most robots have all their mechanics on the baseplate, and I could REALLY do some serious damage! On top of that, if I meet an equal or greater wedge, I can punch said wedge and render their wedging ability less! This time around, the spike is angled up slightly for even greater reach across the floor.

The lifter goes 180 degrees without the scoop, and 95 degrees with it. She can right herself, by the way, if it ever comes to that. She can raise the lifter and then fire the spike to push herself right side up again.

Speed: 6
Torque: 1
Traction: 6
Armour: 7 (+1 to the weapon)
Weapon: 4
Wedge Effectiveness: 6

Team Ectogasm

LW: Don't Tread On Me!

Image

This new LW for Team Ectogasm will take the center stage. With The Servant family now in retirement for the time being. A fast tracked brick rammer with it's wedge on the front and the anti spinner plate on the back. Very well armoured and controlled, this bot certainly looks the business and is ready to take track bots to a whole new level!

Speed: 7
Traction: 6
Armour: 10 (+2 to anti spinner plate)
Torque: 1
Weapon: 0
Wedge: 6

MW: Merry Hampton BR

Image

Oh yes, the CBBR Middleweight runner up is back! Now with more armour on the front wedge, look to him for major tanking against the divisions spinners!

Speed: 7
Armour: 10 (+2 to front wedge)
Traction: 6
Weapon: 0
Torque: 1
Wedge: 6

HW: Klarinette 2

Image
Image

Hey hey, it's 'Nette-Chan! She's back and better than ever. Gone are the tracks, replaced by a badass looking four wheeled drive. It has two scoop like wedges, one at the front and an inverted one at the rear. It's main weapons are the two battle hammers designed for aggression and whatnot. Beware, she's back!

Speed: 7
Armour: 8 (+1 to front wedge)
Traction: 5
Wedge: 5
Torque: 1
Weapon: 4

SHW: Curse Of The Deep 2

Image

Thanks to Kody for the new paint pic.

After being shelved for more than 3 years to gather dust, the SHW flop is back. But this time it's not a laughing matter. Same as the last incarnation, COTD 2 features 4WD and a large axe, but this time it has a lethal spinning ring to compliment that. With the axe also on a turret, this bot can deal 360 degrees of double damage. Let's see if the flop can turn into a champ this time.

Note: The red "ring" on the top view that go around the turret are "Cushions" for the axe, so it's doesn't hit it's own chassis.

Speed: 4
Armour: 4 (17 for the spinning ring, axe and turret)
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Weapon: 17 (-3 for three active weapons, giving the ring and the axe a power of 14)
Wedge: 0

Team Mechanical Menagerie

Lightweight - Hit 'em Hardest

Image

Coming from two semi-finals and a final in ARC competitions, this plucky little guy's out for one last shot at a title. The thwack arm extends out just past the front wedges, which are hinged on the drive axis. The front wedges are steep to deflect spinner attacks, but no so steep that it will have difficulty beaching an opponent.

Speed: 7
Armour: 8
Traction: 6
Wedge Effectiveness: 6
Torque: 1
Weapon: 0

Middleweight - V for Vendetta

Image
Image

New robot. Ish. First time I've ever used an axe on here and it will probably go very wrong, but what the hell. This one's a good all-rounder, with a decent weapon and good armour. The axe also functions as a srimech.

Speed: 5
Armour: 7
Traction: 4
Wedge Effectiveness: 4
Torque: 2
Weapon: 8

Heavyweight - Vertigo

Image
Image

Full body flipper design similar to Hammerhead 3. Works when inverted, but can also self-right with the powerful flipper. It can afford to have such low armour because the front and top armour is 10 due to the weapon. The flipper is incredibly powerful and should throw bots high into the air and across the box, hence the name Vertigo.

Speed: 5
Armour: 7
Traction: 4
Wedge Effectiveness: 4
Torque: 1
Weapon: 9

Superheavyweight - Inflammatory Slammer

Image

Again, had this update for a while but it's yet to compete. Previous iterations all reached the quarters, but met their match there. Maybe this PA-style machine can go a little further. The lifting forks work both ways, with a full 180 degrees of movement, as do the skirts and front hinged wedges, which are removable. Anti-spinner bumper on the rear.

Speed: 6
Armour: 8
Traction: 5
Wedge Effectiveness: 5

NOTE: If there are any issues, stats wise, be sure to inbox me, coz otherwise it will disappear in the comments.
