(1) Ceres & Viluy II vs. (2) Euphoberia Ferox & Red Snake of Death

Okay, so both sneks have themselves spread out from starting square in their favorite V shape. Both are just barely touching the starting square, leaving me confused as to who the active bot. Conversely, Viluy makes it entirely clear who's active on her team. Also she is heading off in the direction of Ferox so I guess that's going to clear up matters there. And you'll have to excuse me for a minute because for the second week in a row I'm stuck with another moron who couldn't be bothered to port over their strategy from their singles fight to a tag fight. :P [Reads Nicks OTHER RP] Well that was a bit anti-climactic

Cherry Bomb Classic Results

Week 14 at The Grid: Championship and Awards

The first annual Cherry Bomb Classic has now reached its conclusion. Before we hand out rewards and championship trophies, I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone on behalf of myself and the dedicated staff who made this thing work even when it had no right to. I'd like to thank the participants who offered up unique and awesome designs and who came up with brilliant (and sometimes a little bit underhanded) strategies week in and week out. To kick things off, let's hand out some fan-voted awards.

In a landslide, the Aggrobot Cup for the biggest upset of the tournament goes to Team Covenant's Lightweight (12) Vesta for its defeat of (7) Mordor in the Quarterfinals.

The Golden Horseshoe for the most unexpected deep run goes to Team Stealth Robotics' Superheavyweight (20) XIII!

The Antimatter Horseshoe for the unluckiest early exit goes to Angry Goat Robotics' Superheavyweight (13) The 4 Elements!

In a vote so close that a tiebreaker was needed, The Tombstone award for the most destructive robot in the tournament goes to The Monsterworks' Featherweight (2) Howler II over Team Covenant's Middleweight (1) Ultraviolence and The Monsterworks' Middleweight (5) Seadevil.

The Abattoir award for the most disappointing robot of the tournament goes to Team Covenant's unexpected Featherweight flop (10) Heretic in a tiebreak vote over Team 57's Superheavyweight (5) Lifter 2: Electric Boogaloo!

The much coveted Setrakian Cup for the most original design goes to The Monsterworks' Superheavyweight (8) Euphoberia Ferox in a close vote over The Monsterworks' Heavyweight (10) Bastille!

For the least sportsmanlike winning tactic, The Tornado Award goes to all of those who used the Ramp Camp strategy on Shooting Star by a wide margin. Congratulations, you're all dirty rotten bastards!

In a near-unanimous vote, the Beginner's Luck Award for the best rookie, who demonstrated far more than mere luck throughout her run, goes to Shaba117 of Team Stealth Robotics.

That concludes our awards for this tournament, as voted for by you! Now, we have six giant squids sitting here. who's going to get them?
