QUARTER-FINALS

Lightweights

Eudial [#3] vs. Veto [#6]

Damn it, Brian showed so much promise, and then doesn't show up in the quarter-finals. :( Hoping he comes back, he was really good.

Eudial wins by FF, and advances to the Lightweight semi-finals.

Cuddle Time! [#4] vs. Redline [#5]

Here we go! Quarter-final action! And Redline is gunning for any opening he can find! Problem is, Cuddle Time! is making that a difficult time for him! Wait! Redline's gonna do it! He's gonna - ooooohhhhhh. Nope. Cuddle Time!'s got him. Up goes the clamp, but Redline's trying to get away! Further lift, and Redline can't escape! Gabe looks around for the saws, but it doesn't seem he can get to them reliably... so to the hammers they go, and... well, Redline resists them rather well, I must say. He's getting hit, but there's little damage being done. It doesn't do much for Redline though, because he's still losing points. Anyhoo, Cuddle Time! is forced to let him go and Redline is back to circling the clampbot. He actually does succeed in getting around the clamper this time, and thumps him into the wall, trying to move Cuddle Time! to the hammers himself. Eventually he does, but Cuddle Time! only takes a few bargain shots, then squeezes himself out of trouble. Bargain shots... what would those really be? Two hits for the price of one? In any case, these were indirect hits, so they did little damage. Okay, back to the circling game. Which Cuddle Time! eventually wins again and manages to complete his plan of bringing Redline to the saws. Too bad they separate him from Cuddle Time!'s grip. Thing is, there's only time left for one last ram from Redline, so we go to the judges' decision. Yep.

Aggression: 8-7 Redline
Damage: 9-6 Cuddle Time!
Strategy: 9-6 Cuddle Time!

Cuddle Time! wins by a 25-20 judges' decision, and advances to the Lightweight semi-finals!

Middleweights

March or Die [#3] vs. Latvian Gambit [#6]

One's a 2WD machine that flips. The other's a tracked machine that lifts. So much... VARIETY!!! No seriously, you guys suck.

Well due to the nature of playzooki's tactics, this doesn't get really exciting. Of course, being boring doesn't mean it's not effective, because both of them get under each other often, but playzooki makes more use of his flipper and tosses Latvian Gambit around a lot, whereas when Latvian Gambit gets under March or Die, March or Die escapes relatively easily due to the shape and depth of Latvian Gambit's lifting plow. Towards the end March or Die gets lifted onto his ass and flops onto his back. Latvian pushes him against the wall, and March or Die tries to right itself but finds that it can't... playzooki is about to rage when he notices that the clock reads :05. Well, shit. Bad luck, Marti.

Aggression: 8-7 March or Die
Damage: 8-7 March or Die
Strategy: 8-7 Latvian Gambit

March or Die wins by a 23-22 split judges' decision, and advances to the Middleweight semi-finals!

SEMI-FINALS

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Frequency [#1] vs. Cuddle Time! [#4]

Frequency is going for the no-nonsense approach this time. Cuddle Time! is barging out immediately, but when Frequency has spun up, he heads straight into Cuddle Time! and smacks him. Gabe makes sure the hit was in the middle of the plow, but it still sends the bots away. Cuddle Time! has to eat another hit, however the 2nd time he's close enough to stall the blade of Frequency with his lifting/clamping array. He gets underneath Frequency's skirts and gets the lift going. Frequency tries to escape but Cuddle Time!'s superior drive prevents that, and eventually he manages to toppe Freq onto his back. Frequency wobbles about until Cuddle Time! manages to catch him again, and takes him to the hammer. Pow! Pow! Pow! goes the hammer on Frequency's underbelly, but the hits are doing only some amount of damage, not a lot at once. It manages to stack up and when Cuddle Time! finally lets go, Frequency does have a hard time trying to get back up from that. He just manages to do so before the count-out comes, but Cuddle Time! is right back in his face and shoves the lifter in. Frequency nearly gets lifted over again but this time manages to sneak away and spin up again, so Cuddle Time! turns and uses the plow. As before, Frequency simply barges into him and leaves a dent in the plow, but it really doesn't deter from Cuddle Time!'s own offense, who simply comes back in again. He eats another hit and this time there's a big gash in the plow, but Frequency's slowed enough again where Cuddle Time! smothers him with the plow. Frequency is up an' at 'em with the front wedge but Cuddle Time! moves away a bit, turns and gets the lifting/clamping array in before Frequency can spin back up. He doesn't have much time to get in with the lifter though before the clock runs out, so to a judges' decision we go.

Aggression: 9-6 Cuddle Time!
Damage: 9-6 Frequency
Strategy: 12-3 Cuddle Time!

Cuddle Time! wins by a 27-18 judges' decision and advances to the Lightweight Finals!

Zadkiel [#2] vs. Eudial [#3]

Well Lian, if you thought your RP was going to be counted, I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS! You were off by over an hour. :v:

Eudial wins by FF and advances to the LW Finals
