Week 1

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Cuddle Time! vs. Silver Phantom

First match! Bitchin'. So Cuddle Time! tries the ol' rope-a-dope near the killsaws. Blarg. Silver Phantom is absolutely no slouch however and zig-zags wide about the killsaws, avoiding them. Cuddle Time! barely manages to get the plow in on Silver Phantom and SP gets deflected off the plow. Silver Phantom plays more passively now and CT! gives chase, and takes another hit to the plow. Then Silver Phantom manages to get a major, major hit on the exposed corner behind the plow. This completely rips CT!'s side wide open and spins him across the arena. However, he's still working okay. Now desperate, CT! rams into Silver Phantom and makes him eat plow again. Silver Phantom ricochets off the wall and back into CT!, who collects him and dumps him towards the pulverizer. SP takes some hazard abuse but CT! accidentally takes a shot as well, and that hit has suddenly made CT! sluggish, just adding onto the damage earlier sustained from SP. However, SP is no longer able to spin up. For the remainder of the match, CT! tries manoeuvring SP into hazards around the arena, but can't really do any of that due to his compromised movement. On the other hand, SP cannot really do much of anything to CT! anymore. The buzzer sounds after over a minute of fairly inactive bots...

Aggression: 12-3 Cuddle Time!
Damage: 13-2 Silver Phantom
Strategy: 8-7 Cuddle Time!

Silver Phantom wins 23-22

Translaytor vs. Zombie Killer

Okay, so... wow. I have no idea how Translaytor's movement differs from any other translational robot, so I am just going to assume it moves the same as the others for sanity purposes. It's not really like it would have made much of a difference here, though. Zombie Killer's agility, control and armoured plow make it so that Translaytor really cannot get around the plow at all, or damage it much, and he gets subsequently bossed into the four corners of the arena, earning some nudges from the corner spikes and even a few flips. He does survive to the buzzer, but looks pretty beaten up. On the other hand, ZK's plow has all sorts of nicks on it, but no real hits that pierced through.

Aggression: 14-1 Zombie Killer
Damage: 8-7 Translaytor
Strategy: 12-3 Zombie Killer

Zombie Killer wins 33-12

Eudial vs. Redline! Fuck Yeah! Spinner vs. Rammer! Fuck Yeah! Aggression! Fuck Yeah? Well maybe not so much as Redline drives out and maneuvers around Eudial. He seems surprised to see that the weapon does in fact have 360 degrees of coverage and an opening isn

Week 3

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Translaytor vs. Frequency

Holy shit, holy shit. Both robots spin up and good god that's a lot of weapon power to be throwing around. Frequency advances while spinning, whilst Translaytor has to get to full speed to really move anywhere. Before Translaytor can really move much, Frequency's reached him. Nick is right, he is able to strike Translaytor's chassis with his bar, but Brad is also right in that Translaytor's shape aids in deflecting the blow. Unfortunately it doesn't deflect it completely. Frequency goes flying across the arena, and lands on its side. Translaytor has a long gouge in its chassis, but it begins to spin back up. Frequency knocks itself about trying to self-right, and finally does so. However, Translaytor has approached full speed by now and has started to move towards Frequency. Frequency starts to spin up, but they meet before Freq has the bar at full speed. Nonetheless, there is another bit of damage done to Translaytor's chassis, but Translaytor isn't knocked away, and this time he manages to drive his blade directly into Frequency's front wedge. The back wedge is almost completely ripped apart, along with one of the side skirts, and both bots get knocked back a bit. Frequency stays on its feet this time and spins back up, whereas Translaytor is finding it harder to get up to speed as fast. Frequency manages to get another hit before Translaytor can get fully spun up, and catches the chassis again, though not in the exact same place as before. It again throws Frequency backwards a fair amount, but it still does damage to Translaytor. Translaytor is still fine drivetrain-wise and is nearly at full speed again. The bad news is that Frequency didn't knock itself over again (though he nearly did) and is also now at full-speed. Both bots come in at each other and Frequency manages to catch one of the places he ripped into before.

*FUCKING KA-BOOM.*

Shards of metal go everywhere as Translaytor almost literally explodes into pieces; armour from Brad's lightweight is flayed about and bearings and miscellaneous objects are scattered everywhere. On the other hand... Frequency has knocked itself onto its back again, and its bar has been severely bent, while its rear wedge is but a memory of its former self. Both robots have been really damaged, but Translaytor is somehow able to move. However, he is really unbalanced when he tries to spin, so he just moves about randomly. Meanwhile, Frequency flails about trying to right itself with its hampered weapon and dents its weapon casing a bit trying to do so. It eventually does, and Translaytor bumps into it. That's the match, because there goes the buzzer. Wow, who won this one?

Aggression: 8-7 Frequency
Damage: 10-5 Frequency
Strategy: 9-6 Translaytor

Frequency wins 24-21

Week 5

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Eudial vs. Scorching Rage

This is almost a carbon copy of Scorching Rage's match against Frequency. Almost. The lifter manages to get underneath a few times, and Eudial nearly gets toppled once or twice, bouncing around the arena on its weapon for a couple of moments. Eventually Kody manages to land a hit with the weapon on the central channel - not a clean hit - but enough to shift the complexion of the fight. Scorching Rage's lifting arm is no longer moving smoothly, and a second hit while Bob is trying to lower it nearly slices it in two. With his weapon out of commission, Scorching Rage takes much more of a beating in the second half of the match, with a number of gashes opening up courtesy of the Zlayers machine. One particularly nasty shot tears off an entire side panel, and Scorching Rage looks like he's only moving in circles here. Kody takes a look at the clock, there's a few seconds left, so he sweeps back in and slices a wheel clean off in the final shot of the match.

Aggression: 9-6 Scorching Rage
Damage: 12-3 Eudial
Strategy: 9-6 Eudial

Eudial wins 27-18

Zadkiel vs. Veto

Oh boy. Both weapons are spinning at full speed as the two approach each other, and it's a hit! Veto's curved weapon appears low enough to force a BLADE to THING?!?! confrontation, and both machines are thrown across the floor. Zadkiel goes spinning around like a sports car on a frozen lake, while Veto appears to be bunny hopping towards the wall! Thankfully, he comes to a stop a couple of feet from it, and the anticipation again begins to climb. Veto swings around towards the center, but Zadkiel is able to cut him off, and it's a hit! Zadkiel goes sliding across the slots, while Veto again has trouble keeping himself stable after a big impact. We get Robotnik...we get Robotnik...we get Robotnik! The arena hazards are ready to be supercharged, but Zadkiel is again hunting down Veto, and it's a hit! Veto this time skids into the wall like he's Pastor Maldonado, and Zadkiel is able to hound the rookie spinner against the perimeter of the arena. At least, until his disc fails. Lian switches tack and this time brings the wedge in against Veto, slipping underneath the weapon. The bar scuffs the shallow wedge, but clouts one of the rear wheels, almost tearing it out of its mountings! Zadkiel's mobility will be severely compromised after that shot, but Veto is still bouncing around, ricocheting off the wall and just barely landing on its wheels, but its weapon has given out too! The dying moments of the fight see Zadkiel trying to chase down Veto, but the crippled drivetrain gives the rookie just enough leeway to prevent being scooped up until the buzzer goes.

Aggression: Zadkiel 10-5
Damage: Veto 10-5
Strategy: Veto 8-7

Veto takes a 23-22 split Judges' Decision

Mr. D vs. Frequency

Mr. D spins2lose as Frequency pwns him all around the arena.

Frequency wins by KO in 0:56

Cuddle Time! vs. Redline

Actually, Cuddle Time! has a very hard time tracking Redline. Redline zips around here and there and makes it very hard for Cuddle Time! to keep an accurate scope on him. Eventually Cuddle Time!'s better control wins out and he cuts Redline off and gets under the wedge... well hold the phone. He backed up, and Cuddle Time! lifted for nothing. In comes Redline now and gets under... holy fuckin shit, that was a huge-ass ram. Cuddle Time! bounces off the corner and eats a nasty shot from the hammer, but gets away. The next meeting, when it eventually happens, goes in Cuddle Time's favour and he clamps and lifts before Redline can get away... the problem is, Redline's back wheels are still on the ground. As Cuddle Time! tries to get Redline to a hazard, Redline jerks aside and messes up Cuddle Time!'s aim. Cuddle Time! twists and turns, trying to get Redline over to the hazard but Redline is just not co-operating. Eventually Cuddle Time! has to let him go and Redline swiftly gets under and deposits him under the hammer for one more shot before the buzzer signals the end of this very cat-and-mouse match.

Aggression: 8-7 Redline
Damage: 10-5 Redline
Strategy: 8-7 Cuddle Time!

Redline wins 25-20

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Zadkiel vs Scorching Rage

Coin flip to determine if this is a coin flip (since he may or may not have been 1 minute late)

Heads: coin flip
Tails: Lian wins

Tails

Zadkiel wins by FF

Redline vs. Conqueror

So they go for the corners. Of course, what a brilliant tactic. Nominate them for a Pulitzer, someone. They have just as much chance of winning as whoever is writing this match. Anyway Redline manages to win out with his greater speed and better coverage, and he gets underneath Conqueror and slams him into the bumper. It does a bit of damage, but that won't keep Alex up at night. Unfortunately they're still in close quarters, meaning Conqueror can't get the wedge in Redline's face fast enough. Redline gets under and slams him all the way to the other end of the arena. The problem with this is that the hit was so severe it bounced Conqueror far out of range of the hammer, so it comes down and hits Redline instead. Oof. Conqueror gets under Redline as the latter backs away from the hazards, and flips him. What do you know, Redline's perfectly fine inverted. What's more, the flip separated the two. Redline moves in again, this time with the spiked end since it's pointed at Conqueror, and gets under again. WHAM. Back under the hammer. Pow! Pow! Conqueror takes a walloping. Given Conqueror's nomenclature, I could probably make a joke about it beating a U-Boat and it being bombarded by an aerial raid. Who knows, I didn't pay too much attention to many WW2 battles outside of D-Day. Anyway, Conqueror gets out of there and manages to maintain control long enough to get off another flip on Redline. Redline turns and they finally go head-to-head. What do you know, Conqueror has the better wedge. Realizing this, Redline backs off. Feeling a bit more confident, Conqueror stalks its foe around but there's only a few seconds left. Conqueror does get under but time runs out before he can do anything with Redline.

Aggression: 8-7 Redline
Damage: 10-5 Redline
Strategy: 8-7 Conqueror

Redline wins 25-20

Zombie Killer vs. Eudial

Eh actually this fight ends up being pretty quick. Zombie Killer rushes at Eudial, and the weapon on Eudial knocks both bots away before it can get under, leaving a nasty dent in the wedge. Kody has 4 more hits left in that weapon

Week 9

Zadkiel vs. Zombie Killer

Unfortunately for Zadkiel this is all Zombie Killer. The plow takes the hits like a champ, even the few corner hits that Zadkiel manages to grasp, whilst Zombie Killer smashes Zadkiel into whatever's in his way. And that's really not that much. Not even the lack of damaging hazards in the Land of Confusion deter Zombie Killer's plan. By the end of it Zadkiel is moving very sluggishly around the arena. His disc is going strong still, though, and it takes a small piece off of Zombie Killer's plow as we hear the buzzer and go ringside for the judges' decision.

Aggression: 12-3 Zombie Killer
Damage: 10-5 Zadkiel
Strategy: 9-6 Zombie Killer

Zombie Killer wins 26-19

Mr. D vs Silver Phantom

Heads: Mr D, Tails: Silver Phantom

Silver Phantom wins, shame to him and his family for doing so by coin flip

Redline vs. Translaytor

Well this would have gone better for Translaytor, had Redline's speed not totally overborne him. As it were, Translaytor's spin-up time completely boned him. Redline tanked one major hit that ripped off a lot of the wedge, but then Redline uses the spikes. Translaytor is bullied around the arena and never gets the chance to spin-up again in the match, as he is thrown into pulverizers, killsaws, walls, and just about everything else Dylan can throw at Bradley. At the end of the match it looks like Translaytor has been blasted by a firing squad armed with M240s.

Aggression: 14-1 Redline
Damage: 9-6 Translaytor
Strategy: 11-4 Redline

Redline wins 31-14

Whyachi Division Rumble

Latvian Gambit vs. King Dedede vs. Suplex

So all of these guys are going through to the play-offs, so this is a moot fight. That's what you'd think, right? Well NO! They're stuck in an idiot triangle! So we have to determine the best from the worst. Readyyyy... GO!

Oh boy, major screw tactics here. Suplex is gunning across the arena, hoping Latvian attacks Dedede. Well, he doesn't. Martijn focuses on Suplex and has Latvian attack him. Dedede just swivels around to try and face both of them. Sheesh. Brad notes Latvian's behavior and changes tack... or tries to, but his lack of control has him overturn and expose his side, letting Latvian tackle him from the side and shove him into the wall. Dedede's now after them, and by 'them' I mean Latvian. Martijn is aware of this but can't exactly turn quick enough (mostly because he's got Suplex smushed against the wall) before Dedede crashes into him. Down comes the hammer and starts to really, really hurt the top of Latvian. On occasion he gets one of the tracks... but tracks don't go by the wheel damage rule. Or do they? Ow my head hurts... well they do get damaged enough to the point where Latvian has a little trouble really moving. But poor Suplex hasn't had much action in the fight yet. Okay, that's 30 seconds up, enough of the damn sandwich. Dedede backs off, and Latvian gets the fuck outta there. Suplex also hightails it, keeping Latvian between himself and Dedede. That doesn't seem too hard, since Latvian is having a go at him again. Dedede remains stoic and not really making too much effort to get near them. Fucking opportunist. Anyway Latvian gets the better of Suplex again, but this time they go head-on and Suplex swivels away, back across the arena and Latvian is after him. Dedede makes his move again, but Latvian notices and in this instance is swift enough to counteract the rush and get underneath Dedede. But of course, this leaves him open to a charge from Suplex from the rear. Suplex dials some revenge in and clamps down on Latvian's rear end. He doesn't have the best grip, but it does allow Dedede to get away and reorient himself. Latvian has a hard time shaking Suplex off. He eventually does, but not before Dedede gets a few devious shots in from the sides, further damaging the tracks. Now Latvian has a bigger drivetrain problem than before, moving at a clear angle. This makes it easier for both of the other robots to attack him, and Latvian gets trapped between the two again. This time Suplex has a much better grip on him and Dedede re-approaches from the side. Problem is, he only has time for a few hammer blows before time is up. So, how the hell did this one go? Let's find out.

AGGRESSION
Latvian Gambit - 6
King Dedede - 5
Suplex - 4

Latvian Gambit - 0

STRATEGY
King Dedede - 8
