WEEK 1 - RESULTS!
Battleshots will be up soonish. I'm still working on 'em.

LW
Scatterbrain vs Nanael
Scatterbrain spins up and begins to translate out of its square while Nanael moves in like a bullet train. Josh's strategy wins out and he's able to scoop up the spinner and bring it directly to the spinning disc! Sparks fly as Scatterbrain is knocked sideways! However he's back up to speed before you can say "holy crap, what a hit". He's able to get a good hit on the corner of Nanael's plow, but it does minimal damage. Nanael freight trains him once again, this time into the hammers, which do some slight damage. Again, Scatterbrain is able to get a slight hit on Nanael's corner, which once again does minimal damage, but he's able to follow it up with a decent hit on Nanael's back wheel, which knocks the lightweight Teresa backwards a foot or so. Scatterbrain comes back in before Nanael can fully turn and gets two more decent hits, the last of which leaves a small gouge in the side of Nanael's plow. Nanael is able to recover and scoop up Scatterbrain one more time before the match ends.

Aggression: Nanael 9-6
Damage: Scatterbrain 8-7
Strategy: Nanael 10-5

Nanael wins a 26-19 judge's decision.

Final Punishment vs Anti-Body

Anti-Body wins by FF... so much for no FFs.

Microwave vs. Mr. D

We get a few really cool collisions out of this fight before Mr D gets put out of commission.

Microwave wins by KO in 1:03

Shade Fist 3 vs Anti-Virus 6.0

Anti-Virus rushes out right into Shade Fist's face. The drum hits the plow hard and they both kinda pop into the air. Anti-Virus recomposes himself and comes at Shade Fist again. Same result, the drum striking that plow and popping them both into the air. AV is quicker this time and gets underneath Shade Fist and drives him hard into the wall. Shade Fist gets knocked away and gets his drum back up to speed, but Anti-Virus absorbs the blow and this time plows Shade Fist into the arena disc. Shade Fist eats a cut but the hit knocks both of them away, giving Shade Fist the time it needs to get his drum back up to speed. When AV comes in this time, Shade Fist is able to force the hit to come at an angle, popping Anti-Virus up and away. Shade Fist keeps the momentum going and hits a wheel, ripping it off and nearly flipping Anti-Virus over.
Image
Kody quickly backs AV away, before coming in again more carefully. This time he gets underneath Shade Fist and slams him into the wall, before pinning him under the arena hammers until time runs out.

Aggression: 12-3 Anti-Virus
Damage: 10-5 Shade Fist
Strategy: 8-7 Anti-Virus

Anti-Virus wins by a 25-20 judges' decision.

Week 2

Apologies for lack of battleshots. Busy day and all.

LW

Anti-Body vs Dead

The main gist of this match is that while Playzooki tries to get Dead's disc into play, he really can't due to Alex's impressive driving skill. After 3 minutes of Anti Body ramming Dead around the arena, the match ends with Dead looking battered and beaten, while Anti Body has some small scratches but nothing serious.

Aggression: Anti-Body 12-3
Damage: Anti-Body 12-3
Strategy: Anti-Body 14-1

Anti-Body wins a 38-7 judge's decision.

Le-Mans vs. Conqueror

Two flippers! Joy of joys. Okay yeah so Conqueror starts out strong and immediately gets under Le-Mans. The angle is pretty bad but Conqueror manages to flip him over anyway. Conqueror is also able to anticipate where Le-Mans will self-right and gets back under. This time he has enough leverage for a more powerful flip and Le-Mans nearly goes into a 360, but hits his side and lands on his back again. Le-Mans however is able to self-right out of trouble. Now they meet again, and it's Le-Mans this time who gets under. Le-Mans uses its torque advantage to push further under Conqueror before Conqueror can twist away, and throws him over! GF tries righting his machine, but Le-Mans has pinned Conqueror down using its own flipper! Unexpected. With this advantage, Le-Mans takes a pit stop to the pulverizer. Being pinned down, Conqueror is completely unable to move and has to endure half a minute of being beaten by that damn hammer. When he self-rights at last, it's clear that the hammer did some sort of damage to the edge of his flipper. Conqueror immediately turns and goes front-hinged. It seems to benefit him more because he gets under Le-Mans again and gets a nice flip that sends Le-Mans tumbling. Le-Mans however is able to self-right out of trouble again. Le-Mans gets a half-flip on Conqueror that tips the Ice Cubed machine almost over but not quite. He falls back on Le-Mans' flipper, but time runs out before TBR can fully flip him.

Aggression: 8-7 Conqueror
Damage: 9-6 Le-Mans
Strategy: 8-7 Conqueror

Le-Mans wins 23-22

Nanael vs. Zadkiel

Angel battle? FAH! This match is anything BUT holy! Nanael is a massive bitch and Zadkiel is an asshole who wants to dethrone God.

Yep.

Anyway Nanael goes with the scoop. Well Zadkiel tries to work around it, but Nanael is able to tank several shots to the front without being spun away much, and in turn Zadkiel is deposited on the killsaws several times. Mid-way through the match Zadkiel actually manages to get a clean shot in the gap on Nanael's lifter, finally spinning the Teresa-alike away. Nanael gets the front pointed but Zadkiel hits the exact same area again and the opening there is now much more pronounced. Unfortunately for Zadkiel this stops his disc entirely, and Nanael scoops him up and zings him into the hammers. Zadkiel escapes with a few dings and spins up again, able to latch onto that earlier opening and now do some real damage as part of Nanael's scoop gets torn out. And... there goes the buzzer.

Aggression: 10-5 Nanael
Damage: 11-4 Zadkiel
Strategy: 8-7 Nanael

Zadkiel wins 23-22

Microwave vs Shade Fist 3

Okay, well, we get a couple of blade to drum collisions, y'know, lots of cool sparks and shit. And then Microwave catches one of the drum supports. And it goes flying. And then drum goes flying. Audience members are frightened for their lives because they're complete idiots and don't know that the battlebox is made of the strongest metal known to man (diamond). They also bought tickets to this yawn-a-thon instead of Siphai's match, since three of his were cool enough to be broadcast on the fightpics cam. Oh, yeah, anyway, wow. Shade Fist without a drum is like the Mortal Kombat X PC Release right now. It's got nothin'.

Microwave wins by a knockout in 1:03.

Anti-Virus vs. Scatterbrain

Out charges Anti-Virus, heading on a collision course with Scatterbrain. The thwackbot starts shunting off to the side leading to a somewhat awkward meeting between the two. The long and short of it is that AV isn

Zadkiel vs. Anti-Virus

Neither Lian nor Kody seems to be reinventing the wheel here as far as strategy goes and we get a pretty standard opening to the match. AV comes flying across the arena while Zads creeps out at a small angle. AV curves to keep the plow dead center on the disc. Moments later we have our first collision. WHAM! Some sparks fly, Zads rebounds back a couple feet and AV gets spun around. There doesn

ZOMG WEEK 4

LW
Mr. D vs Conqueror 2

Both robots move out, Conqueror with the longer wedge in front, Mr. D with weapons spinning. The two collide, and Mr. D gets a good hit on the front wedge, causing sparks to fly. After a few of these, Conqueror gets underneath, flips Mr. D on its side and shoves it under the hammer. Before Mr. D can right itself, a well-timed hammer shot manages to bust the Co2 tank inside, knocking out the spinner.

Conqueror 2 wins by KO at 1:44

Anti-Virus vs Nanael

Anti-Virus ramps off of Nanael a few times before finally getting underneath and bringing Nanael to the disc. Sparks fly, and the back end of Nanael as a fairly large bend in it now. Nanael counters by getting underneath, raising the lifter, and doing the same to Anti-Virus. This somehow causes one of Anti-Virus' wheels to pop right off. Now crippled, Anti-Virus is able to get underneath Nanael's side and brings it to the arena drum. Nanael responds by self-righting, but Anti-Virus takes advantage of this and brings Nanael to the hammers. Boom boom boom. Nanael finally is able to get an advantage again and brings Anti-Virus to the disc again, which succeeds in leaving a large scratch on the back corner. Soon after this, time runs out.

Aggression: Anti-Virus 9-6
Damage: Nanael 9-6
Strategy: Anti-Virus 8-7

Anti-Virus wins a close 23-22 split decision.

Anti-Body vs. Le-Mans

Anti-Body is aggressive and repeatedly thwacks Le-Mans, exposing his side and getting under a fuck of a lot of the time. Le-Mans is unable to really counter this and gets sent to hazards a lot. His defensive game doesn't really help as Anti-Body still manages to get under. Around the end of the match Le-Mans looks like he'd been thrown in a blender.

Aggression: 13-2 Anti-Body
Damage: 15-0 Anti-Body
Strategy: 11-4 Anti-Body

Anti-Body wins 39-6

Final Punishment vs Scatterbrain

Scatterbrain wins by forfeit.

Shade Fist 3 vs. Dead

Week 5

LW
Le-Mans vs Anti-Virus
This match is fairly back and forth. On each collision, someone different gets under. When it's Le-Mans, he flips Anti-Virus. When it's Anti-Virus, Le-Mans feels the wrath of the arena hazards. One of these is doing more than the other and by the time the buzzer sounds it's fairly obvious.

Aggression: Anti-Virus 8-7
Damage: Anti-Virus 10-5
Strategy: Anti-Virus 9-6

Anti-Virus wins a 27-18 judge's decision.

Mr. D vs Anti-Body

Subbing for Martijn in this battle is a man named Lesley. Strange.

Well really this isn't much of a contest. Anti-Body has too much armor for Mr. D to do much and he never really gets to Anti-Body's wheels at all. Mr. D survives to the end, but that's about all it accomplished.

Aggression: 14-1 Anti-Body
Damage: 11-4 Anti-Body
Strategy: 15-0 Anti-Body

Anti-Body wins a 40-5 judge's decision.

Nanael vs Microwave

Nanael's flush front does a good job in fighting off the Microwave blade with minimal damage. Josh is able to press aggressively and bully Microwave backwards. The low traction means that Microwave ricochets towards the arena walls, where Nanael is able to trap Microwave and eventually pin him. Nanael lifts and starts driving Microwave towards the arena discs. One of the side wedges get ripped and the two become separated, but it isn't long before Nanael comes back in on Microwave. The plow is showing scratches and small cuts after the halfway mark, but nothing that Microwave can really grab onto. Nanael continues to boss Microwave around, mostly pinning him into walls and attempting to drive him to the drum without much success.

Aggression: 10-5 Nanael
Damage: 8-7 Microwave
Strategy: 10-5 Nanael

Nanael wins by a 27-18 judges' decision.

Conqueror 2 vs Shade Fist 3

Stop making your RPs so goddamn long. My eyes glaze over these huge text dumps the second I click on the thread. I was also gonna say stop italicizing and bolding everything, but then realized that you probably realize that your RPs are so big that you have to so that people get the jist. Here's a great idea: just distill your RP down to the crap you feel you need to italicize or bold. Anyway. SF3 actually does a good job of damage Conqueror. The weapon cuts and dents and nicks Conqueror, and SF3's weird shape makes him hard to pick up and carry. A couple times SF3's drum pops Conqueror in the air but he's unable to capitalize. Conqueror finally just box slams SF3, and their proximity to the wall means SF3 eats it. Conqueror carefully maneuvers SF3 under the hammer and boxes him there. It doesn't last too long as SF3 is able to slip away, but Conqueror is in close pursuit and gets underneath SF3 again. He flips him onto the saws, but the flipper takes some damage from the drum. He gets underneath again and tries to stack SF3 on his side, but is unable to do so. Towards the end of the match, its clear Conqueror was in control, but accumulated a lot of damage over the course of the match.

Aggression: 12-3 Conqueror 2
Damage: 13-2 Shade Fist 3
Strategy: 9-6 Conqueror 2

Conqueror 2 wins by a 23-22 judges' decision.

Week 6

LW

Microwave vs Anti-Virus

The match starts out with Microwave coming out sideways while Anti-Virus charging out straight at him. Microwave's blade catches the corner of AV's plow as planned and it leaves some nice damage on it. However, the same hit slows its bar enough so that AV gets underneath and slams it into the wall hard. Another slam and Microwave is on its back. Struggling to self-right, Microwave dances around the arena, and eventually gets just enough leverage to right itself. Anti-Virus, however, is fast enough to come in and deliver another mighty slam, this one right into the pulverizer! The hammer starts coming down on top of the hapless overhead spinner, with hit after hit raining down. Eventually AV's 30 seconds are up and he has to release Microwave, but the robot appears to be dead. Kody celebrates as Microwave is counted out.

Anti-Virus wins by KO at 2:12.

Final Punishment vs Nanael
Nanael wins by forfeit.

Shade Fist vs. Anti-Body

Anti-Body does a lot of thwacking in this fight with Shade Fist trying to use its drum for any kind of defense it can. Shade largely keeps from getting pushed around by AB too much, but keeps getting batted by the thwack arm. He does smack the arm with the drum on several occasions, but isn

Week 8

LW
Zadkiel vs. Anti Body
Anti-Body box rushes and gets a good slam on Zadkiel, whose weapon stops dead. Anti-Body immediately takes charge, slamming Zadkiel all around the ring and bringing Zadkiel to the hazards. With about a minute left in the match, Zadkiel manages to escape and gets one corner shot on Anti-Body, but it doesn't do much and Anti-Body quickly retakes control of the match. The buzzer sounds shortly after.

Aggression: Anti-Body 14-1
Damage: Anti-Body 11-4
Strategy: Anti-Body 13-2

Anti-Body cleans house with a 38-7 judge's decision.

WHAT WEEK IS IT

LW
Dead vs Microwave

Microwave has the early upper hand here and gets some good shots on Dead's chassis, which seals the deal. The disc goes flying off Surgeon-General style soon after, and then Microwave finishes the match by ripping off a side panel.

Microwave wins by knockout at 1:23.

Zadkiel vs Mr. D

This is pretty much an easy win for Zads. Mr. D doesn't have the control to get past its weapon, and at the 2:00 mark it stops spinning. Soon after that, it stops moving entirely.

Zadkiel wins by knockout at 2:31.

Anti-Virus vs Conqueror
The two trade blows, Anti-Virus uses its speed to some effect giving Conqueror a taste of the walls a bit more often, but Conks makes a show of its flipping ability, tossing Anti-Virus every now and then. Everything else is pretty similar between the two. It

Week TEN

LW

Scatterbrain vs Le-Mans

Scatterbrain spins up as its opponent moves out of its square. Despite a glancing blow, Le-Mans gets underneath and pops the melty brain with the flipper, then carries it over to the spike strip, where it promptly reverses, hanging Scatterbrain on it! Scatterbrain is beached on the spikes! Or is it?? By wobbling back and forth, Scatterbrain is able to gain enough traction to escape, just before he's counted out! Quickly making up for lost time, Scatterbrain delivers a punishing blow to the side of Le-Mans, and then another. Scatterbrain is in control of the match from here on out, delivering hit after hit while Le-Mans can really do little in return. By the end of the three minutes, Le-Mans looks like it just got through the big one at Talladega (wrong motorsport, but you get the picture).

Aggression: Scatterbrain 9-6
Damage: Scatterbrain 14-1
Strategy: Scatterbrain 12-3

Scatterbrain takes home the win with a 35-10 judge's decision.

Dead vs Final Punishment

Final Punishment charges across the arena, but is too late to stop Dead's spinner, which punts the puncher across the arena. Final Punishment doesn't really recover from this, getting armor torn off in chunks until it stops moving.

Dead wins by KO at 1:14.

Nanael vs Mr. D

Nanael doesn't care for your pitiful Badass Digletts! Or your dumb mohawks that act as self-righting mechanisms! She has the righteous fury of GOD on her side! You will tremble before her, earth-dwelling creatures of blasphemy!

[/Team Blood Gulch advertising slogan for the match]

And, erm, for the match, it seems that Mr. D was indeed no real match for Nanael. He gets a few glancing hits but Nanael is able to overturn him a lot. One of these flips Mr. D can't self-right from in time. Perhaps it was damage to the mohawk from all those hazard trips...

Nanael wins by KO in 2:33

Conqueror 2 vs Microwave

Well Microwave's speed might be "dreadful" but unfortunately yours isn't too much better, Alex. :v:

Still, Conqueror does control the beginning of the fight. The bar of Microwave makes a glancing blow off the wedge of Conqueror, making a noticeable dent but nothing more yet, and Conqueror makes him ride up the wedge. Microwave however is able to shear off that polycarb panel instantly. Nonetheless, Conqueror is able to flip him over. Microwave dances around a bit trying to self-right, and as Conqueror starts shoving him to the hammers, Microwave knocks himself out of trouble and finally self-rights, not thanking the wedges that made this difficult. Conqueror comes back in on him again, but Microwave manages to catch the same area before. Now there's a cut in the wedge for sure. However, Conqueror manages to get under again, and send Microwave into the wall. Microwave stops spinning immediately, but Conqueror doesn't have the best angle to flip him or even push. He tries to slide Microwave along the wall, but Microwave is able to wiggle away. He falls off the front corner of Conqueror and zips away. Conqueror is after him, but Microwave is spinning again. Noticing the gash in Conqueror's armour Alex tries to go straight on this time, instead of angling in. But Microwave moves aside and manages to strike the cut squarely, ripping it open much wider. It counts as an edge hit, so it sends both robots flying backwards. Conqueror is unable to come back in time before Microwave is spinning again, and eats another big hit. What started out promising for Conqueror is now going completely downhill as Conqueror is having a hard time moving now. Repeated hits to the same area have really knocked him about. Microwave moves in, now the aggessor, and lands several hits to the exposed area on Conqueror. The fifth repeated hit finally knocks out Conqueror.

Microwave wins by KO in 2:46

WEEK ELEVEN

LW
Dead vs Le-Mans

Dead spins up and Le-Mans tries to avoid the disc, but it doesn't really work. Dead catches a corner, tearing Le-Mans open. A second hit cuts into the electronics, knocking out the car.

Dead wins by KO at 0:47

Scatterbrain vs Zadkiel

Both robots come out spinning. Both bots hit each other weapon-to-weapon multiple times, but Zadkiel gets the bad end of one hit and Scatterbrain follows it up with a good shot to the side, sending sparks flying and warping that side of the drive. Now struggling a little, Lian is able to bring the disc to bear again and catch a small scar he tore into earlier, sending a piece of Scatterbrain's armor flying. Scatterbrain is knocked back by this, but Zadkiel's crippled drive train means it can't take advantage in time. Scatterbrain tries to zoom around again but gets nicked by Zadkiel's big disc again and loses a little more armor. Third time's the charm for Nick as he's able to take out the front left wheel of Zadkiel. Scatterbrain gets in two more hits, one fairly big, the other miniscule. Time runs out shortly after.

Aggression: Zadkiel 8-7
Damage: Scatterbrain 9-6
Strategy: Scatterbrain 8-7

Scatterbrain wins on a 24-21 judge's decision.

Final Punishment vs Conqueror

Um... so Final Punishment tries to, like, wedge Conqueror up, totally? Yeah well, you see, it doesn't, y'know, work. Conqueror totally fucking rams him around the arena, right? And so, like, give him a groovy tour of the hazards, coolio. What, uh, more do you want me to say?

Aggression: 11-4 Conqueror
Damage: 12-3 Conqueror
Strategy: 14-1 Conqueror

Conqueror wins 37-8

Shade Fist vs Nanael

Nanael tries to avoid the Drum to THING??? confrontation, but Shade Fist manages to get a clear shit and takes it. Nanael didn't like that much and is more careful in her next approach. This time she succeeds in getting around the weapon and lands a devastating ram into the corner saw. Although when I say the ram was devastating, I mean the RAM was devastating, not the corner saw hit. Shade Fist goes flying from the RAM, gets a minor slice from the saw, and goes on his merry way. Nanael pursues, eats another drum hit but keeps with Shade Fist. This time she's able to manoeuvre Shade Fist over to the drum. Shade Fist tries to avoid it but CRASH!!! I had to type that sound effect in Caps Lock so you could see the impact was srs busns, gais. Shade Fist's drum hits the arena drum and the bigger, heavier arena drum sends Shade Fist flying the full length of the arena, causing it to hit the wall and go bouncing down. The audience on that side of the Lexan prompty change their lower garments. Nanael comes back in and and delivers Shade Fist to pulverizer as he's stunned. Shade Fist gets away after a few hits, but that drum is, um... not moving. Oh wait, there it goes! Nanael takes another hit but continues to really not be too effected by the drum as she controls the rest of the fight, sending Shade Fist back to the hammers at the end.

Aggression: 10-5 Nanael
Damage: 8-7 Shade Fist
Strategy: 8-7 Nanael

Nanael wins 25-20

Playoff Rumble

The three converge in the center of the arena, but Conqueror cheekily backs away before the three collide, causing Scatterbrain and Dead to clash with each other and sending both flying. Conks immediately goes after Scatterbrain and scoops it up, trying to drive it into Dead's disc, but the 3-wheeled wonder escapes at the last second, causing Dead's disc to cause a large gash in the front of the flipper. Dead then goes after Scatterbrain as well, but merely gets a glancing blow. Conks reverses back into the fray, gets underneath Scatterbrain, and chucks it over so it lands behind Dead. Dead tries to aim for Conks again but Alex backs the wedge away quickly, and Nick sneaks up from behind to deliver a good hit on Dead's rear corner. This seems to impair Dead's mobility in that corner, so Scatterbrain spins up again and gets another good hit, tearing off some back armor. Dead is now reduced to slowly driving forward and reversing, his turning essentially disabled. Conqueror comes back in and scoops up Scatterbrain again, and this time is able to chuck it onto the spike strip. Nick struggles to get Scatterbrain off the wall while Alex drives over to Playzooki's robot and gets under from behind, then pulls a LONG RUNNING SLAM into the struggling Scatterbrain with the disc at full speed! Both spinners stop moving! BUT WHAT'S THIS? Conqueror has taken serious damage due to Dead's ricocheting blade, and has stopped moving also! IT'S A TRIPLE KNOCKOUT!

Aggression: Conqueror 7, Scatterbrain 5, Dead 3
Damage: Dead 5, Scatterbrain 5, Conqueror 5
Strategy: Conqueror 8, Scatterbrain 6, Dead 2
