And just when you thought it was safe to say it was over...

WRONG!!!!!

Week 1

LW's

Microwave vs SNK

This match did not last long, but boy did the spectators get their moneys worth! We saw a shower sparks raining down in the arena as the two clashed together, no one giving an inch. But just after the minute mark, SNK's bar begins to show signs of powering down from the stress as it begins to slow. Microwaved capitilized and showed no mercy on attacking the side after some tricky driving. SNK is spun away with significant damage done to the side, Microwave then shunts SNK under the pulverizers and holds him there as he takes shots. Soon SNK is barely moving, having lost drive on side due to the impact of the side shot. Badnik taps out to
avoid taking anymore damage.

Microwave wins via KO at 1:42

Lava Spire Daredevil Run vs Zadkiel

The two machines emerge from their squares, with Lava Spire looking to worm his way around that fearsome disc of Zadkiel, which is already moving at a considerable pace. Lian, though, certainly isn't going to make it easy for Mystic, keeping that weapon right in his face. To his credit, Mystic does manage to get to the sides of the spinner, and slip the wedge underneath Zadkiel enough to toss him up into the air a little. Although it does kick himself up as well, rendering him immobile until the flippers can retract. Zadkiel, luckily, lands right-side-up, and manages to regroup while Lava Spire is getting itself back together. Again, Mystic tries to circle around the disc, but SMACK! One shot from the weapon sends both machines flying, and Lava Spire's wedge now has a tremendous gash taken out of it! Undeterred, Mystic continues the attack, but a second strike from Zadkiel's disc opens up the front end on the now limping Lava Spire even more, and a third stops it completely.

Zadkiel wins by KO in 1:24

Mr Not Very Nice vs Kite

Kite gets under in the early going, and gives the thwacker a few strong flips. Zooks rallies back, slipping around the flipper momentarily and pushing it into the Pulverizers, but Kody is able to wriggle free after taking only a couple of hits. From there, the flipper drives NVN along the arena wall and into the jaws of the Compressor, which slam down on the thwacker with great vigour. A flip from Kite disorients NVN enough for the Compressor to enclose on it a second time, before it's just about able to escape before a third clamp comes in, and manages to manouver itself around the Knights-Who-Until-Recently-Said-Ni machine and nudge it into the danger zone as well. Another couple of impacts land upon Kite, which is again able to wriggle itself free, to be met with a glancing shot from the tail of NVN. The match continues along these lines, with both competitors sticking near to the most powerful hazard in the arena. NVN looks a little beat up by the end, and Kite scores a good deal more flips than NVN does thwacks, but it's safe to say the Compressors got more action in this fight than George Michael in prison.

Aggression: 8-7 Kite
Damage: 10-5 Kite
Strategy: 9-6 Kite

Kite wins 27-18

Scatterbrain vs. Deathstalker

It appears as if Nick is pretty sure of what he wants to do here as he has Scatterbrain spinning around as he approaches Alex

Week 2

Turbine vs The Windmill

At first, Turbine was able to hold his own a little, after a lucky break at the sides, he flipped Windmill against the wall. Windmill landed back down with a crash and bit of chase ensued. The beginning of the end however was when Windmill got his first hit on Turbine, causing very big damage to British machine. Turbine kept going for it to his credit, but The Windmill was just too strong and after a few more good shots, Turbine is smoking and no longer moving.

The Windmill wins via KO at 1:46

Zadkiel vs. Mr. Not Very Nice

Both machines head straight for each other, NVN ploughing straight into the not-quite-at-full-potency Zadkiel, with only a minor scratch for his troubles. In manouvering towards his hazard of choice, however, NVN loses his grip on the squirreling spinner, allowing Lian scope to regroup and get the disc going. NVN comes in for a second charge, but Lian manages to swing the disc around into the onrushing thwackbot and BANG! A pretty solid shot from the weaponry sees a noticeable gash taken out of the front wedge of NVN, and Zadkiel follows it up with another equally damaging hit. Zooks changes it up and begins spinning on the spot, but that doesn't deter Lian any, and the thwacking arm crashes straight into the disc! Still NVN carries on the thwacking, but Lian is able to cause a decent amount of damage to the arm on the thwacker, which is clearly not straight anymore. Reverting to type, NVN takes another heavy shot and loses a sizeable chunk out of the front wedge, but manages to shovel underneath Zadkiel again, keeping the disc from spinning up for the moment. Again NVN attempts to shove the spinner towards the Compressors, but can't keep enough of a hold on it to get there, and again Lian manages to escape. Zooks continues harrying the Ectogasm machine, and the disc does begin to show signs of wear and tear as the clock ticks down, the thwacker scoring the last hit with a medium-range slam into the spiked walls.

Aggression: 11-4 Mr. Not Very Nice
Damage: 12-3 Zadkiel
Strategy: 10-5 Zadkiel

Zadkiel takes a 26-19 judges' decision

================================
Lava Spire Daredevil Run vs. Deathstalker

Lava Spire hugs the walls at the outset, giving Deathstalker a little trouble manouvering into a position where it isn't wedge vs wedge. Alex V is clearly picking his opportunities with great care. However, when he is forced to move out by officials, Deathstalker pounces, driving his wedge beneath the flipper and driving him straight into the drum! Lave Spire goes tumbling through the air, and comes back down near the killsaws, thankfully able to back away before Deathstalker can come in for another attack. Again, Alex V aims for the sides of Lava Spire, but this gives Mystic a chance to come in with an attack of his own, giving the thwackbot a pretty decent flip. Deathstalker lands wrong-side-up, limiting the potential of that arm, but Lava Spire is still propped up by its own weaponry, leaving it a sitting duck for another charge by Deathstalker. This time the Ice Cubed machine sends Lava Spire right across the arena, slamming it into the far wall and allowing the Compressors to work their magic on the dual flipper. Alex V tries to bring his "Crucifix" into the game, but it doesn't seem to be coming low enough to strike the opponent now. Thankfully the Compressors seem to be doing quite the number on Lava Spire, and by the time Deathstalker lets him go, the cylinder on the back - along with the leading edge - definitely look worse for wear. From here on out, the match is all Deathstalker. Even with his thwacker limited in its capability, running slams and plenty of hazard action give the Ice Cubed Machine plenty to be happy about by match's end.

Aggression: 10-5 Deathstalker
Damage: 14-1 Deathstalker
Strategy: 11-4 Deathstalker

Deathstalker wins 35-10

Week 3

LW's

Spike vs Scatterbrain

Well it took awhile but we're at Week 3. :P

Anyway, Scatterbrain repeats his strategy from the previous match, which is spinning in the opposite direction of Spike's ring rotation, but it doesn't actually help all that much. True, it doesn't do as much damage all at once, but at the halfway point (of constant abuse and Scatterbrain unsuccessfully trying to bounce Spike into a hazard), Spike manages to catch one of the hammerheads and tear it straight off, gimping Scatterbrain's translation. It doesn't take long for Spike to finish off Scatterbrain after that.

Spike wins by KO in 1:58.

The Windmill vs Microwave

Sorry Nick, you need to state in the description whether or not the teeth are removable. The teeth stay on for this match.

OR DO THEY??? Well, after a couple of undercutting hits to one of them, it goes flying away. Interesting. The Windmill then starts to eat into the middle of the wedge a bit, but just as Nick tries to tip Windmill upwards, Windmill catches another teeth and flings Microwave away. A few more hits and that tooth goes, and the whole lifter doesn't look too hot. The Windmill keeps at it and eventually the third and final wedge tooth is completely gone. I guess Nick got the flat smooth lifter he wanted. Except not really. The Windmill continues to beat into Microwave as time runs out, and only right at the end does Microwave kick Windmill into the air and Windmill gets nailed by the Hazard-like blade, gashing his armour up. Too little, too late.

Aggression: 8-7 The Windmill
Damage: 13-2 The Windmill
Strategy: 15-0 The Windmill

The Windmill wins 36-9.

Mr Not Very Nice vs Deathstalker

Time for a recapping match. The highlights of this match included a lot of dominating control from Deathstalker, plenty of hazard trips and slams. Despite his aggression and never day die approach, Mr Not Very Nice couldn't break through. Towards the end, both of them get caught by the floor flipper and are both hurled through the air and into the compressor area! Both of them barely managed to escape in time as the buzzer sounds.

Aggression: 10-5 Mr Not Very Nice
Damage: 13-2 Deathstalker
Strategy: 9-6 Deathstalker

Deathstalker wins via a 32-13 decision

Stabby Joe vs. Zadkiel

Stabby Joe abandons all pretenses and starts charging. Zadkiel gets the disc spinning and starts moving in that direction as well. And

In substantially less time than it took for week 3, here's week 4!

Tune in next year for Week 5!

Week 4

LW's

Zadkiel vs. Turbine

Well there's no point in needlessly dragging out the inevitable. Zadkiel caught the corners of Turbine fairly easily and after a few hits Turbine looked terrible. (lol aren't I funny... shaddap) Turbine managed to actually get one good flip on Zadkiel but it made almost no difference and Zadkiel continued to tear into Turbine. A few more hits and Turbine's down for the count.

Zadkiel wins by KO in 1:23.

Mr. Not Very Nice vs. SNK

Right off the bat NVN barrels into SNK and the bar of SNK catches the front of NVN and sends him back, but only a little. SNK itself is sent flying backwards. NVN gets back in and wedges SNK, and takes him directly to the compressors. Well, uh... they don't exactly do that much because SNK is low as fuck, but he still gets crumpled a little. But that's from one hit, and NVN keeps him there for at least a few more crunches, so when SNK finally escapes he looks pretty bad. SNK manages to get another nice shot that tears open the wedge on NVN, so NVN can't use it too effectively. NVN then gets to thwacking. Unfortunately his thwack end isn't the most effective either and he only gets glancing shots, allowing SNK to carve him up further. So NVN just goes for the gusto approach, and his wedge gets totally trashed after the next hit, but he gets SNK sent to the pulverizer and the hammer cripples SNK. When SNK wobbles away from the hammer, however, his weapon is still working and NVN gets his front ripped into on the next hit, but it also sends SNK back into the hammer and the very next hammer hit KO's SNK. Lucky break for playzooki.

Mr. Not Very Nice wins by KO in 1:56.

Spike vs. Lava Spire Daredevil Run

Spike wins by forfeit.

Microwave vs. Scatterbrain

I'm not 100% sure, but Scatterbrain's weapon power is just determined by speed, since it's not a dumb thwack, otherwise it'd be (speed+traction)/2. But anyway, in the match they go weapon to weapon a lot. And while Microwave gets knocked around, Scatterbrain is taking hits directly to his chassis; that is to say his wheel pods. Microwave gets his lifter torn up and he finds it difficult to get up to speed as the match goes on, but Scatterbrain's wheel-pods get hit to the point where one of the wheels is no longer spininng. Once one of them goes, Microwave is quick to come in and tear him up some more. It was a long and slow battle of attrition, but Microwave was able to damage more vulnerable areas more often.

Microwave wins by a knockout in 2:43

Deathstalker vs. Stabby Joe

Deathstalker wins by FF

Kite vs. The Windmill

Never the one to hesitate, Kite makes his move and angles against the weapon of the veteran spinner. Of course Windmill isn't a former champ for nothing and Alex does a nice job at countering Kite's movements enough to strike one of the front armor panels and put a small gash in it. The collision throws both of them back. Kite manages to recover first and quickly zooms in so Windmill can't set up as efficiently. Kite still eats a big hit from the tri-bar, but this time manages to mostly absorb it with the flipper. Third time is a charm for Kite and Windmill is on the receiving end of a nice little flip. Kite stays on Windmill like they're joined at the hip and follows up with another flip, and soon after then another! It's a juggling show now. With some effort Kite gets Windmill to trip over the saws a bit, but even a little bit puts some noticeable scratches in Windmill's chassis. Windmill is able to use the hazard to get some much needed separation from Kite. As Kite comes back in, Windmill gets another great hit on that front armor panel and tears most of it off. Windmill gets in another shot on the flipper arm which now looks a bit dented, but now Kite is able to get back into position to start flipping Windmill around again. Kite gets Windmill up against the wall and is struggling to start working him back in the direction of the hazards when the buzzer ends the fight.

Aggression: 11-4 Kite
Damage: 10-5 The Windmill
Strategy: 8-7 Kite

Kite wins 24-21

MW's

Clown Breath vs. Revolutions Per Minute

Well, um... the best thing you could say about this fight was that it was very destructive. Clown Breath and RPM met several times during the match, and RPM's ring took one hell of a beating. Sadly there weren't many sparks, so the crowd weren't too happy, but as Clown Breath's blades were finally bending, RPM's ring just stops, too slashed up to even spin properly anymore. Clown Breath gets it some more hits, though they aren't full power now since his weapon's pretty badly bent up. The juice goes out at the last hit, right at the 3:00 mark, and Clown Breath's blades halt.

Aggression: 8-7 Revolutions Per Minute
Damage: 11-4 Clown Breath
Strategy: 8-7 Revolutions Per Minute

Clown Breath wins 25-20.

Marauder vs Bad Idea

Looks like James is a no-show again. Marauder wins by FF.

Week 5 or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Results

LW's

SNK vs Stabby Joe

SNK wins via FF

Spike vs Mr Not Very Nice

NVN approaches...slowly, for some reason. Well, slower than usual, and that allows Spike time to get that ring going, so when they do some together, there is the inevitable almighty crash, and both robots go flying. Spike rebounds off of the arena spikes, but the front wedge of NVN is already mangled, not looking much good for getting under anything. Zooks comes in for a second attack, but this time the wedge gets taken completely off, sliding straight into the Compressors, which dutifully close in on the errant piece of NVN. With no wedge, the thwackbot goes kamikaze, throwing himself into the spinning hammers with gay abandon, and getting chewed up in the process. In fairness, he does manage to slow Spike's ring after a few assaults, but by that time he can't quite follow up, and resorts to spinning on the spot with a front end that can only be described as 'gaping'. Spike provides us with a ring-to-tail impact, and NVN begins thwacking once again, but abruptly comes to a stop when a battery pack flies clean out of the machine. Josh courteously hangs back, and the match is stopped almost immediately by the officials, just as the front wedge of NVN has completed its metamorphosis into a geometrically perfect cube.

Spike wins by KO in 2:01

Microwave vs Lava Spire Daredevil Run

Lava Spire started out aggressively, gunning for Microwave's sides, but just couldn't get itself past that fearsome spinning bar. The wedge got chewed up something fierce, the flipper was taken out of commission after a mistimed flip, and the rest of the machine soon followed suit.

Microwave wins by KO in 1:39

Week 8

Lightweights

Deathstalker vs. The Windmill

Deathstalker comes out quickly, but Windmill is already up to speed and the first hit sends Deathstalker flying, sparks everywhere. Its wedge looks pretty bent up, especially at the bottom. Alex tries to move to the side, but Windmill turns into him and delivers a glancing blow to the side, catching the skirt and ripping it off, and knocking away Deathstalker again. Windmill comes in to finish off Deathstalker and does so with a brutal hit that knocks the wedge armor off entirely.

The Windmill wins by KO at 1:34.

Mr. Not Very Nice vs. Lava Spire Daredevil Run

OMG RPs! Unfortunately they're both rather sub-par. Lava Spire has the better wedge and gets under Not Very Nice more often, driving him to the pulverizers and letting the hammers work on him. When NVN gets under, it's to the compressors, which do more damage than the pulverizers but only slight. NVN tries to supplement this with a thwack but misses. That's kinda how it goes, sadly.

Aggression: 8-7 Lava Spire Daredevil Run
Damage: 8-7 Lava Spire Daredevil Run
Strategy: 8-7 Mr. Not Very Nice

Lava Spire Daredevil Run wins by a 23-22 split judges' decision.

SNK vs. Zadkiel

SNK plays a fairly conservative game here, while Zadkiel just goes balls-out. SNK... um, can't turn quicker actually, because of his lower traction, but he's able to get the weapon back in Zadkiel's face before Zadkiel can come back at him. Both of these fuckers do a shitload of damage to each other's weapons and when they slow down SNK turns about with the hinged wedge and rams Zadkiel, forcing him into the saws. Zadkiel takes some damage from them, but is still able to spin, so SNK plays conservative again. Progressive conservative? Not likely. SNK and Zadkiel get two more hits before both of their weapons can't be spun up anymore due to being too bent and warped up. SNK then gets one last ram in, but can't get Zadkiel to the hammers before time is up.

Aggression: 9-6 Zadkiel
Damage: 8-7 SNK
Strategy: 9-6 SNK

SNK wins by a 23-22 split judges' decision.

Stabby Joe vs. Scatterbrain

Stabby Joe goes to Eat At Joe's while Scatterbrain wins by FF. Shame.

Kite vs. Spike

Spike spins up and moves out, but Kite is... reversing towards him? Okay... This strategy seems to work as Spike is unable to get a good bite on Kite at all, getting some small glancing hits that scratch paint but not much else. Both drivers are being very cautious, and not much aggression is being shown. Then, Kody gets all the way under Spike with Kite's rear wedge and begins to bring the ring spinner to the compressor! Josh struggles to get away, and it seems like Kody may have him, but Spike manages to get off the wedge at the last second, and Spike is able to get a decent shot at the side of Kite, knocking it away and sending some sparks flying. Kite quickly turns back to have its rear end facing Spike again and charges, getting under Spike again. This time it's able to bring Spike to the compressors and keep it there. As it slowly clamps down on Spike, it appears to bend the ring slightly, and Spike can no longer spin to full speed. This creates a problem, and Kite turns around and begins to launch Spike around the arena. Time runs out after the third or fourth flip Kody gets on the weary spinbot.

Aggression: 9-6 Kite
Damage: 10-5 Kite
Strategy: 12-3 Kite

Kite wins a 31-14 judge's decision!

Turbine thanks his lucky stars as he gets a FF win.

WEEK 10

I'm fed up with Lian's crap so I'm posting results this week. Deal with it.

LW

Scatterbrain vs Kite

Scatterbrain spins up and moves out, while Kite moves out in reverse again! It seems to work for Kite, but Scatterbrain is able to get its hammer underneath Kite's pipes and knock it away. This happens a few more times before Kody is finally able to stop Scatterbrain, turn around and flip it. this happens a few more times, now Scatterbrain is under the pulverizer! It takes a single hammer blow before escaping and getting up to speed again. This time Kody is luckier and gets Kite to stop the thwackbot on the first hit, and he's able to get some more flips in. Nick regains control when he's able to sneak away and get a good hit in on Kite's side, but time runs out soon after. All in all, a fairly interesting battle.

Aggression: 10-5 Kite
Damage: 10-5 Scatterbrain
Strategy: 9-6 Kite

Kite wins a 24-21 judge's decision.

Microwave vs Zadkiel

Pretty standard spinner battle here. Both robots spin up and come at each other. Zadkiel makes first contact on Microwave's wedge forks, but the impact knocks it into the path of the blade, leaving a large gash in the front panel of Zadkiel. Undeterred, Zadkiel moves back in toward Microwave, and the second impact pretty much happens the same way, and Zadkiel is looking very much worse for wear. A third hit from Microwave kills Zadkiel entirely.

Microwave wins by knockout at 1:34.

Spike vs. Deathstalker

Aw man, I wanted to see that 15 weapon cut through that 7 armour. :( Oh well, Spike wins by FF.

Stabby Joe vs. Mr. Not Very Nice

Well he's eliminated, Jim! But that won't stop him! Mr. Not Very Nice wins by FF!

SNK vs. The Windmill

Fuck this match-up! SNK has a big spinning bar?!?!? They flung each other across the arena. BUT THEY'RE NOT DEAD!!! Okay here they come AGAIN!!!! FUCK!!! They hit each other and SNK's <del>dick</del>bar is bent out of fucking shape!!! Kinda. Maybe. BUT IT SPUN HIM AROUND MORE!!! And you wanna know what else?!?!?!? WINDMILL'S COMING IN OH MY GOD MOTHERFUCKER BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!!!!!!!!!

SNK lost a motherfucking wheel and wheelguard at once.

The Windmill wins by fuck-up in 1:34.

Turbine vs. Lava Spire Daredevil Run

Turbine collects a FF win.

MW

Perseus vs. March or Die

And it's GO, GO, GO! Both machines shoot out of their squares, and MoD begins arcing around to the sides of Perseus. Kody, however, manages to keep the business end pointed at his foe, and burrows his way beneath the skirts of the flipper. MoD is trying his best to escape, but soon finds himself being shoveled towards the hazards and axed to fuck! However, a well-timed flip allows him to knock himself free. Again the two machines come at one another, and a little juking and jiving finds MoD slithering underneath Perseus and giving the axebot a taste of the killsaws. A little grinding, and Perseus manages to slip free and regroup. Throughout the match, both bots seem to get underneath each other just as often as one another, Perseus puts his axe to good use, combining it with a few hazard trips, but MoD uses his flipper to good effect, escaping from Perseus's clutches, and using it to keep control over the axebot when he manages to get hazard shots in of his own. One particularly forceful killsaw shot late on in the match sees one of the front wedges of Perseus taken clean off. By the time the match ends, both machines are looking pretty beat up: MoD with one or two nice puncture marks and dents in his flipper, and Perseus with plenty of scratches and nicks taken out of him.

Aggression: 9-6 Perseus
Damage: 8-7 March or Die
Strategy: 9-6 March or Die

March or Die ekes out a 23-22 Judges' Decision

Pterodactyl vs Merry Hampton
Merry Hampton comes out at an angle, while Pterodactyl moves to face him. Merry is able to control the situation better and angles into Pterodactyl, getting under it and slamming the flipper into the wall. Pterodactyl recovers almost immediately and gets underneath on the second charge, using Merry Hampton's momentum to flip it up and over. From here, Pterodactyl takes charge of the match, scooping up Merry and maneuvering it all around the arena. Near the end of the fight Merry is finally turned over by a floor flipper and is able to get one more good slam into the compressor which damages Pterodactyl a decent amount, but was this last ditch effort enough?

Aggression: 8-7 Merry Hampton
Damage: 8-7 Pterodactyl
Strategy: 10-5 Pterodactyl

Pterodactyl wins a 25-20 judge's decision.

WarWolf vs. Revolutions Per Minute

NFX's MW gets more reprieval as Revolutions Per Minute wins by FF.

Clown Breath vs. Bad Idea!

Influenza Clown Breath wins by FF.

Immolator vs. Automaton

Immolator goes after Automaton's sides and doesn't get lucky. Automaton gets under flips him. Immolator is able to use his disc to kick himself over and then drive away from Automaton before he can take advantage. Immolator then gets under and kicks Automaton over with the disc. Automaton moves away to self-right but Immolator keeps going after him and hitting him. Automaton has little damage on it and self-rights, but Immolator pushes him under the hammer. The hammer doesn't do much but it scores Immolator points. Automaton eventually gets out of that and gets under Immolator again. Immolator is flipped and while the disc kicks him over, Automaton is right there to flip him back over. Immolator immediately goes to the wall and knocks himself back over. Automaton is after him but Immolator gets under and knocks him up a bit. This lets Immolator get under and he tries pushing Automaton around, but he only gets him a bite at the killsaws. Automaton then gets under again and flips Immolator. Immolator knocks himself away, but Automaton then pushes him into the hammer himself. As Immolator takes a brutal shot, the match is called over.

Aggression: 10-5 Immolator
Damage: 9-6 Automaton
Strategy: 8-7 Automaton

Immolator wins via a 23-22 decision
