guh... kinda knew I would get 0-4 this week. the writers just had to have their brackets A CERTAIN WAY. I'm not gonna dwell on it. I'm going to look to the future, and prevent this from happening ever again.
Old parasite was boring. So I'm making it look a bit cooler. I also think the tube armor I had before put it over the 100kg weight limit, so I've simplified the frame as much as possible to reflect its stats better.
Two big advantages I'm going to get in the future:
-I can add 5-6 more inches to the red bar, and I can make it unambiguously scrape the floor.
-The rear wedge will have modular attachments to get better leverage against different opponents.

Stingray's design was unfeasible the way I previously entered it. There had to be a connection between the two sides for the hydraulic system to work.
I also had to make some other practical changes that cost it in the looks department, but should help it in the winning department.

FYI - here's how Stingray's weapon works
there's a hydraulic jack pointing backwards. When it extends, a gearbox magnifies and reverses the direction of the push by 5x. This allows the jack to push something that's twice as long as the robot's body.

How much speed would you get from the weapon with the hydraulic jack? I would have thought pneumatics would be faster and more efficient on the same system (even with the speed of the hydraulics increased fivefold) although I'd imagine you know more than me so feel free to correct my misunderstandings.
Very cool CADs though, as always :) what motors are those in Parasite?

My main concern was saving space, with Stingray.
Parasite's weapon motor is a D&D Motor Systems MO-ES-80A Series Wound. http://www.cloudelectric.com/product_p/mo-es-80a.htm 2.8 hp continuous, 20 hp peak. The wheel motors are just S28-300 magmotors, nothing fancy.
It has its advantages. The main disadvantage is the battery drain, but I make sure it gets fed.

Ah, cool :) I like series wound motors for drive, weapons are a different matter since I have a preference for petrol engines to save on current draw.
Are these being done in expectation of any competition anytime soon? I might see if I can get something or other going on FRA if all else fails.

Take it from someone who repairs hydraulic systems on a daily basis: you'd be surprised at the speed they can produce when NOT geared to move faster.

Stingray is great, it's a way better version of Skate. That would be a legitimately good LW.

Parasite is looking even more awesome than usual. =D Should be stunning when complete.
