patrick loses on time despite having checkmate in two, which concludes the tournament.
final rankings are in the op, i plan on starting a handicap tournament soon which should make things more interesting.

ok, so i'll make a new thread if there is interest, but here's my idea to make this more interesting
1 day a move (could be 2 if people want but would extend the tournament massively due to the new format)
single elimination, i'll do a consolation tournament for first round losers if there are enough entries
handicap system:
4 games between players (2 white and 2 black)
lower rated player gets points added to match score according to rating difference
handicap points rating difference
0 0-100
1 101-200
2 201-300
3 301+
if the match is tied, the lower rated player goes through to the next round
thoughts?

thoughts?
I prefer the two days, due to how it gives people time to react, but I can see what you mean.
Why 4 games between two people? Why not just 2 - a game where they are white and then black‽ (not racist or anything, plz don't ban me)
The ratings I can get behind.

:dawg:
The reason i chose 4 games and not 2 is that it gives me greater flexibility in how many handicap points I can give to the weaker player.

I've been using lichess a lot more since chess.com has become slower in recent months for no discernible reason, and it's ruining my blitz.
Cool. I don't really have much preference, though now lichess has notifications on mobile it's probably slightly better than chess.com
