anybody up for an arc chess tournament?

Talk about the lastest in Nintendo, X-box and, if you can afford it, Playstation. Don't forget about PCs and handhelds, but if you go old-ass Atari on us, we'll cut you off at the knees.

anybody up for an arc chess tournament?

Post by playzooki » Sat Aug 01, 2015 10:54 am

Ive had this idea for a while now, so i thought i might as well start a thread. There are a few chess players on arc so why not. Im not sure whether we would do double elim or round robin, but I think we should play the matches on chess.com and link them here. Correspondence chess would probably be better because time zones might cause issues. Not sure about time limits though, we may have to do a vote on that.

Thoughts?

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Alright since theres interest, i may get some details sorted
How long do people want for a move? Im thinking 2 days might be good but im open to suggestions.
Also do people want round robin or double elim? Finally, how many games per match? I would go for 1 with the colour randomly picked.

alright we need one more person to get to 8 people. since nobody has stated any preferences, ill go double elim, 1 match of either white or black (we could do more in the semi-finals and final if anybody wants) and 2 days per move. Sound good?

I vote round robin, 2 games between every pair of players. 3 days/move.
