Talk about the lastest in Nintendo, X-box and, if you can afford it, Playstation. Don't forget about PCs and handhelds, but if you go old-ass Atari on us, we'll cut you off at the knees.

I... I just had the most surreal experience on chess.com, I really need to document this somewhere.

This here is a copy of what went down in the chatbox.

GAME OVER - Martijn_to_the_B vs. tomdickharry10 - Martijn_to_the_B won by resignation (+6). Your new standard rating is 1018.

Obviously I was a fool for giving away my Queen, I know Nick S says he mutes trash talkers because they do make him make mistakes, maybe I'm prone to do the same thing, dunno, although after this incident he upped his trash talking and I upped my game. In hindsight giving away my Queen became a beautiful part of it all because his firm belief he had the game in the bag made his eventual resignation only sweeter.

Btw, a question to people who know more about chess than I do... did he NEED to resign? His only way out of his final situation was Kxa5, after which I would have played Nb3+, forking his King and Queen, after he moved his King to safety I would have taken his Queen with Nxd2, after which HE could take my knight with Nxd2... I surely had the advantage, I just had hoped that after all that buildup he'd have more of a fight left in him...

Why would you want to mute trash talkers? This stuff is gold!

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

I tend to agree, but when you see some of the trash talking it's easy to see people can find it... distracting at best

Yes, I could see myself laughing to hard to make a move. It's impossible for me to take insults written that lazily as anything but a joke.

But hey, if I thought I had a chance of doing better against Nick by typing out "hahaha loser retard lol" and various derivatives thereof over and over, I probably would have tried it. I was getting pretty desperate after awhile. :P

What DOES bother me, genuinely, is the simple fact I do want young children to be able to play a game online without having to deal with something like THAT. Equally, the intentions behind it do make me lose a little bit of faith in mankind every time I come across it.
