Considering making damage bots that usually get a +4 bonus still eligible for a +2 if their weapon is between 5-10. Any thoughts?

Wait I think Ive misread the rules. You need 10 weapon for the weapon to get an armour bonus right? The weapon on Vortex is usually hidden anyway so I dont need it.

+2 seems reasonable. Otherwise you're kind of forcing any damaging weapon to have 10+ power.

Okay, further update (and I think also just simpler and clearer:

1.4a: Weapon Armour: So a (generally) four point difference between weapon and armour isn’t much. Fortunately, weapon armour is here to help. If you look at most robots, their weapon is generally their strongest, most thickly armoured part. To reflect this, weapons with five or more points invested will receive a free two point armour bonus, making them tougher than the rest of your bot. It’s this number that your self-damage will be based off of. In the case of crushers (including their associated wedges) and smaller spinning weapons (say, smaller than your robot’s longest axis), this bonus will be bumped up to four points if you have invested ten or more points into weapon power. No trying to find loopholes, however. While things like shell and ring spinners get an exception, generally, your weapon has to cover less than 1/3 of your robot to receive this bonus. If it’s a bit too big, you can choose to apply that bonus to a single, easily-definable area that’s less than ⅓.

Imgur now sucks and reduces image quality so if anyone has any options for good file hosting, I'm all ears. Right now I'm using the ARC Wiki host to embed Eudial's images. The quality is still reduced but much less so than Imgur.

You can host them on here as attachments- I don't think phpBB will reduce the quality.

Okay, so I wanted to give you guys a bit of notice before the start date, so I figured I'd post all of this here, on the discussion thread. Any bots that are found to have issues will have until the evening of Thursday, January 31, to rectify those issues. Failing that, the TO and senior staff will either reassign stats as needed or, if that isn't possible, bar the bot in question from competition. If The issue is highlighted in red, that means it is something that you have to fix. If it's yellow, consider it a sort of FYI. Basically, something on your bot may not quite work as intended. Anyways, without further ado, let's play...

What's Fucked Up About My Bot? (also known as 'My Big List of How You Fucked Up' or, alternatively, 'The Monsterworks' Big Book of Blunders)

Team Design Flaw - ready to rock!
Evil Destroyer - turret itself will not receive an armour bonus
Pressure Flop - replacement deadline is tomorrow night!
Something Something Cluster Bot - good to go
Equisde - good to go

The Monsterworks - hold up there, bucko!
Stats and weight classes needed for all bots. Carbonemys missing

Team 57 - locked and loaded!
Tidal Wave 2 - good to go
Chronic Jobber - good to go
Base Drop II - good to go
Lifter 2: Electric Boogaloo - good to go

Team Loading - wait just a gosh-darned second there!
Carnivore - good to go
Marksman - good to go
Perdito - good to go
SHW missing

Team Ignition - Get you ass in gear, racingboi!
all bots missing (extension until Thursday night)

Team Stealth - just needs a lil' TLC
The Thieving Magpie - flipper too large for full-coverage armour bonus
Harpy - good to go
Death Metal - good to go
Triple Six - flipper too large for full-coverage armour bonus

Square Go Robotics - ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum
Killjoy 3 - You could do a 2/3 weapon split to get an armour bonus on the lifter
Vortex 3 - good luck with your augerboi
Hellfire - pushing that bonus limit, eh? I'll tentatively allow it
Shellshock - good to go

Team Instant Regret - No regrets
Terpsichora - I swear that wedge is at like 33.32% or some shit
Manglerfish - good to go
Compound Fracture - good to go
Starfish Prime - good to go

British Robotics - Error 404
The Beast from the West II - good to go
Lethal Carriageway Mk3 - good to go
Pendulum II - good to go
SHW missing!

End of the Line LLC - You got work to do, kiddo!
Piranha Plant - Yeah no, that's a walker
Super Youkai Warhead - weapon stats on Super Scope 3D config don't add up
THE TRASHMAN - picture needed
HAN-D - hey, 1/4 ain't bad

Nighthawk Robotics - In like sin
Jawsome - good to go
Long Arm of the Law - good to go

Cool Story Brobotics - Oh it's on like Donkey Kong!
Twin Typhoons - good to go
Jevil - good to go
Petaflare - good job applying an armour bonus properly
Hartmann's Youkai Bot - good to go

Alpha Robotics - leading the pack
Storm Worm - eh, I'll let you have that 'full frontal' bonus
Diablo Genesis III - good to go
Coupe de Grass - all the YES
Fenrir - good to go

Team Eagle Robotics - Wait a sec...

OverCleaver - good to go

Team Worst Swordsman - tally-ho!
Hobart 2: Fear Naught - good to go
Dragonfist - good to go
Tabor Mk. 3: Somehow There's A Third One - good to go
KEGATRON - yes, you get the +4 bonus!

Angry Goat Robotics - Not so fast, cowboy!
Cuddle Time! - lel 'hammer'. I'll give it to ya
Scion - Yeah, there's no way that entire wedge is under 1/3. Sorry fam
Chimera - you know, as long as it doesn't include the weapon too, I'll actually give you that top bonus.
Delorean Cowboy - all the YES

Team Blood Gulch - tumbleweed blows
Josh, you need to post like...bots. Yeah, that'd be good.

Code Red Robotics - New kid on the block

FYI, the point of robotic combat is to use robots to fight. You don't have robots.

North-West Sheds - easy there, buckaroo
Sleipnir - anti hammer wedge is a bit over the 1/3 limit unless you can show another angle that demonstrates it isn't
Spitfire - it's kawaii AF, but there is no way that front wedge is under 1/3.
TAT - good to go

Team Mongoose - Houston, we have a problem...
Protip: enter bots. That's how you compete

Team Covenant - Somethin' ain't right. It just ain't!
Eudial 2 - good to go
All other entries missing, particularly that sweet heavyweight (extension given until Thursday)

Team Foxtrot Uniform - and you are cleared for takeoff
Harrowdown Hill - FYI, your spinner only gets a +2 bonus if that matters to you.
Neophyte Redglare - good to go
No Dude, You'll Get Crushed - good to go
Space Cadet - good to go

Evil Toaster - lookin' good!
BANG! - good to go
