Scrap City: The Resurrection - Signups

Post by Wolf51-50 » Thu Mar 16, 2017 11:23 am

Welcome to Scrap City! What is Scrap City? It's basically a haven for currently inactive and reserve designs, and a heaven for designs that are unwanted, or have been abandoned or properly retired.

This will be a <del>round robin tournament</del> Single elimination tournament die to time constraints, but there will be a bracket

So how this tournament works: you place your reserve, but you won't be posting any bots. At least, not yet. Similar to Switcheroo, you will be RP for someone else's bot. But here's the catch...YOU get to choose which one! Reserving a spot will throw your name into a hat (so to speak), and you will be given another name that has reserved in this competition.

For example, if Team Blood Gulch reserved a spot, and was given NFX's Team Mongoose, he would be allowed to choose which single bot from Team Mongoose, and Team Mongoose alone for the rest of the tournament. No switching out for another design from that team. If you regret your decision of picking a bot that is doing poorly, sorry not sorry :v: You can only use that one bot til the end.

It is preferred that the same stats are to be used from the bot's last tournament. But if you believe that you can make a miracle with a certain design, see that the design's downfall was in it's stats, or see that the stats are quite unrealistic, feel free to change them up. You may not however, change the design in any way by re-rendering it. Along with that, if I or one of the mods see that the stats or design are overly unrealistic, you will be forced to change the said design or stats.

However, you cannot choose a bot that is currently participating in a competition, or choose a bot that has won a championship (for rookies that have joined us recently, I'll give their designs the benefit of the doubt). Note however, that you can also use a bot that is in a line of precessors.

So bringing back the example of Josh picking from NFX's team, he would not be allowed to use Braveheart, but he would be allowed to use Braveheart the Third.

This will be a MW tournament, but designs of any class can be entered, they will just be viewed as a MW for this tournament.

If you are very particular about which bots may or may not be borrowed, you are free to have one "Builder's Block" where you can prevent anyone from using one certain bot of your own. However, this can only be used on one bot. The rest of your bots from past and upcoming tournaments, and from the submission center, are fair game. If you wish to use the "Builder's Block", please copy and paste this sign:

🛡

And put the name of the said bot right next to it, under your reserve in the same post

However, when picking your bots, try to be fair with what you pick. If using a certain design would make someone unhappy, and they've already used their Builder's Block, try to at least be a bit lenient. That being said, also don't be a bitch and immediately go for something like Deus Ex :v: We want this to be fun for everyone. In other words, have fun, don't be too uptight, and try to live up to the Scrap City name.

Banned Robots
- "Loophole" bots
- Drones or other flying bots
- Hovercrafts (sorry Turbocharge)

30 points to use for stats. Stats will be as always: Speed, Traction, Weapon, Armor, and Torque

We will be using the standard ARC rules, including the following
- CBC saw and drill rules
- ROBOTS walker and shuffler rules
- Monkeywrench clusterbot rules
- Robot Bastards character limit (but this time, we'll be more lenient and expand it to 800 characters)
- Robot Bastards wedge and pressing rules

ARENA: TBD

Reserves start today and will end on May 8th. You will know which team you will be able to pick from about a week after. Singups for entering the resurrected robot of your choice, will close June 15th. The tournament will start at some point during June, or whenever Monkeywrench ends (which will depend on whether or not we have an overload of tournaments. And no, I'm not going to manage two tournaments at once, thank you very much :v: ).

Have fun, and may the bots rise again :dirk:

(NOTE: Dates are subject to change. This tournament may be delayed, should Ruination 4 start up soon. If not, we will make do and continue it)

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.
