The Snake Pit - Discussion

All discussion regarding the upcoming 'Snake Pit' mini-tournament will take place in this thread, including discussion about entries, technical help re: building your own snake, smack talk, and wager discussion.

As some of you know, this tournament is a snake-only event and will probably be limited to eight entries, possibly nine. More importantly, it evolved out of a joke. Josh was endlessly amused by the idea that Canadians in Ontario and Quebec buy their milk in sealed bags. I wagered him a bag of milk if he could build a snake capable of beating mine. Next thing you know, he wagered some Amish apple dumplings and then changed it to a massive box of chips unique to his home state. Kody jumped in and wagered the pouring container for the milk. Thus was born the idea that this tournament would be a bit different. Each person who entered would wager a small prize unique to his or her home region. The winner of the tournament would receive these in the mail.

Welcome to the Snake Pit, where you build something ridiculous and win something that you never even knew you wanted.

In theory you could, but I think that going underground would technically count as being OOTA, so I don't think it would be to your benefit. :P

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Actually it would be against the rules: robots may not cause excessive damage to the arena in normal operation. Putting huge holes in the floor definitely qualifies.

Robots are not allowed to cause excessive damage to the arena and should not try to willingly go OOTA.
