Custom Fantasy Wars - Series 2

Post by That Kode Guy » Sat Dec 13, 2014 2:00 pm

I started this:
http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/threads ... s-series-1
back in 2010.

I also created THIS:
http://s10.zetaboards.com/Drowning_City ... 86/1/?x=25
almost a year ago.

Yep, it's back. So like last time, there'd be a 16-heat set-up with 8 robots, the exact same as Robot Wars Series 7. Each robot I would choose would be a heavyweight from people randomly selected by me to take part in the tournament, along with Battlebots and Combots/RoboGames heavyweights as well as Roaming Robots/Robot Wars competitors.

Being the host of this, my robots will not be taking part in this tournament. However, the arena this time will be one of my own, The Battlegrounds. I'll have to CAD it up, but it should be done by later tonight or tomorrow.

Again, as before, this is first and foremost a predictions tournament. NOT A FIGHTING TOURNAMENT. WHICH MEANS NO RPs. JUST PREDICTIONS. The format would be, thus:

--------
--------

Correctly guess one Round 1 robot that goes through to Round 2, you get 1 point
Two Round 1 robots in separate fights - 2 points
Two Round 1 robots in the same fight - 3 points
Three Round 1 robots... - 4 points
All Round 1 robots... - 5 points
----
One Round 2 robot that goes through to the Heat Final - 3 points
Both robots... - 5 points
----
Robot that wins a heat - 5 points
----
One robot that wins a semi-final in Round 1 - 5 points
Two... - 7 points
Three... - 9 points
All... - 10 points
----
One robot that moves on to the Grand Final - 8 points
Both... - 10 points
----
One robot that moves on to the Final - 10 points
Both... - 15 points
----
Robot who wins the Play-off - 15 points
----
Winner of the Series - 25 points

--------
--------

Keep in mind that this would be completely FOR FUN, and the result summaries are not meant to be taken as what will happen every time. One set of summaries (or two, depending on how I feel/if there's enough predictions) will be posted a day until the prediction tournament is over.

So who's up for Numero Dos?

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Well, it IS tomorrow. :v:

Just to note... the arena is being worked on, but isn't completed. So in the meantime, I'll simply describe it to you, just for accuracy sakes:

It's very similar to the ARC Arena. It's a 20m x 20m box with 2 sets of killsaws near opposite corners of the arena. There are 2 hammer corners adjacent to those. No spike strips, and no drum. The actual walls are 50cm high, but otherwise a sheet of Lexan is above them, preventing Ring Outs. Beyond the killsaws are where these Lexan sheets are not above the walls, and so are Ring Out (OOTA) zones, replacing where the other 2 hammers would be. The killsaws are there to make sure that a flipper robot can't simply charge straight at the corner and fling their opponent out; they have to tread around the saws, making it more difficult.

Anyway, let the Wars begin!

Heat A
Dr. Thwack EVO vs. Aces and Eights vs. S.O.T.A.R. vs. Hydra
Cryoseism vs. M.O.E. vs. Slasher vs. Beast

Predictions please, no tactics/RPs. :)
