Well, I just registered my new squad and I thought we could use a new discussion thread for the upcoming season.

I haven't decided yet, but I may actually take this season off. I'm definitely not writing results this season, so no funny poems or such, at least from me. I'm sure the others can keep the funny going. So yeah, haven't decided, but have been retooling some of my bots a bit just in case I decide I want to.

I wish inspiration would strike. And not inspiration of "Hey, why not do a hammering stompbot with an artistically skewed style of strategizing?!" but y'know, REAL inspiration.

EDIT: On an administrative note, since Revolution is completed, I've taken the liberty of unpinning all obsalesced topics. All these topics have now fallen into the forum based on whenever they were last posted on. The Revolution results and Finals Results have been moved to the Production Studio forum for proper archiving, TTT results have just been unpinned. I'm leaving the complete rankings list, the Redemption Registration, the Arena, and SIREC (in case it gets off the ground) topics pinned. So, don't freak out. They haven't been deleted.

You're welcome.

Same to you.

What are the walker rules? I'm going to enter a walker, if they're allowed.

*NOT a shuffler.

As far as I know, none really. If The Aristocrats was within normal parameters, yours should be as well.

Philip's right. Feel free to enter it as normal. It's gonna be factored in that stompbots don't have as much maneuverability than wheeled bots when it comes times to results, but you don't need to do anything different for them.

Alright, thanks. Maybe I can get a .gif of it moving. I tried to make it motile enough so that it would be able to push and turn to face opponents, even if it required sacrificing weight elsewhere.

I really hope that I didn't make a mistake entering Hellriaser Hybrid. I was trying to decided between it and a hammerbot called Leviathan. I have a feeling that this will probobly come back to bite me.

I agree. Much more competitive field this time.

Totally. I doubt any bot will have an easy ride this season.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Since Phil pointed out that Snewer Sake couldn't lift the wedge without lifting the front wheels as well, I would like to point out that Chris's lightweight (CS?) is impossible. Chris, draw a circle from the shaft to the outer-most part of the blade, and you'll see that it pass through the robot as well as the floor.

I don't think my picture indicates that the blade would go through the ground, since it's drawn at it's lowest point it comes off the ground. Also, yes I realize that technically if that were the real thing, the blade would ever so slightly go through the bot. It's not that hard to point out. However, when considering I am working on a Rhino 3D trial with no saves left, meaning once I close down the program my work is gone, and limited time to do these (not to mention numerous requests to CAD other people's bots), I don't think it's a big deal to bitch about that.

Remember Andrew, we are looking for design impossibilities, not slight irregularities.

=P I'm sure if you ask, most people would be willing to give you the full version. I forgot who I got mine from, but I knew that I would have to get the full version if I was going to be serious about this.

Spatula, your HW walker looks awesome. I can see how that walking mechanism would be quite efficient. Can I assume it would move similar to Drillzilla of Robot Wars?
