without Sparkey... (like that matters! :P)

LW
D-REZ (large-ass area of attack, and a lotta oomph in that weapon, plus back-up plan wedging)
Dr. Robotnik (see above...without the wedging)
Red Zone (we don't see too much of him anymore, but he should be good enough to get into at least the quarters)
Dr. Pepperdine (would be better with wedge effectiveness; now it's just suffering from Night Train syndrome :P still, no denying the power of that fuckin' axe...)

MW
Freezerburn (it'll take a good brick to beat this guy. It's like D-REZ all over again)
Automaton (possibly THE brick to do it, actually, but other competition could take him out before then...still quite strong)
Dreadnought (lol the Atomic 2 spike...actually seems like it can put up a decent fight with its stats, should make the quarters)
FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! (it's a non-shit Terminus! :P dangerous to attack)

HW
Blood Thirsty (fuck exposed tires being a weakness. He has the speed and weaponry to deal with spinners and axes, and can take everything else too)
Slasher (ugh. He's kind of like Blood Thirsty and can take everything on. Against Dylan though, he'll fall hard)
Punch Buggy (a thwackbot with slightly decent wedging and torque, which may help him against the two confirmed spinners in this weight class. The clampers will pwn him though)
Kraze 3 (a dark horse by now, but he could pull it off. Things like Punch Buggy won't make it easy though)

SHW
Final Boss (THE robot to beat. He's just far too low for anything to have a hope of getting under him. Even the Redemption Arena's nail. And plus he's got good armour too. Sorry Dylan, I don't have much of a chance against him  )
Jack Frost (far deadlier than JPS and that's because of his undercutting ability and range. Could give Final Boss a run for his money)
Phantasmic Slammer (could use a bit more armour, but will most assuredly get under anything in his way and slam it around like a motherfucker. Except FB.)
Peppernut (the Vendetta is still on...but Marti has his work cut out for him this time)

It just makes more sense to make the thread when everybody has their entries in.

FRR Dead Zone preseason picks

lol @ my entire team making the semis. =D

It is difficult making predictions before everyone's got their entries in, but hey ho, I'll give this a shot.

Updated version. Not choosing myself anymore. ;)

LIGHTWEIGHT

D-Rez - Possibly the best of the spinners out there, it's gonna be hella tough to RP against, let alone beat.
Talon - It's a good design, and showed well in the Rumble league. Reminds me of Barrier quite a lot, it should hold out well against the plethero of LW spinners around.
Scarab - Similar to Talon, I think this should do well, with the wide stance and weapon face, it'll be pretty hard to beat.
War Bastard - I'm putting this in as a kind of outside shot. GF93 showed great promise in GTM vs. ARC, and I think it's a very well-rounded machine.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

Automaton - It's hard to argue with Alex's success, and with that wedge and armour, it's going to be near impossible to beat, I think.
Jinx II - Interesting take on the lifter/axe combo. It looks very versatile, and I think it could spring a few surprises.
Bad Wolf - Very reminiscent of Parasite. This could easily achieve similar success, especially with the increased control.
Messiah - Another Parasite-esque design, but not quite as well-designed as Bad Wolf, I feel. Could still do very well.

HEAVYWEIGHT

Blood Thirsty - Lots of pedigree here, lots of refinement, lots of versatility, and a good amount of success. Great design, I think this could go all the way with a bit of luck.
Killobite Sigma - I like designs that control the opponent, even though they're difficult to fight. I think this is one of the best, and Kody should be able to get it at least into the quarters.
Punch Buggy - Good former matches in Robot Attack, only lost in a very close match to MiDAS. Interchangeableness gives even more versatility, and it should last longer than WCW.
Bulletproof Bomb - Showed well in GTM vs. ARC, and - with the new stat tweaks - it should do very well once again. Might even be as annoying as Tank if GF93 gets it right.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT

Japanese Porn Star - After JSG's legacy, it looks an excellent candidate to carry the torch for ultra-powered Superheavyweight Spinners. Could very easily win.
Final Boss - Low, wedgy, tough, excellent all-rounder. I think this could make it to the final. Provided it doesn't get shredded by JPS.
Industrial Bastardization - It's got 12 Armour. I will give
Team Mongoose (358-215)
"The Colour of Awesome"

Braveheart / Crash Blossom / Depth Charge / Broken Ghost / Murder Death Unit / Agent X

RoBattle
Override - Heats: 19 pts / Finals: 3 pts
MiDAS - Heats: 19 pts / Finals: 0 pts

I always try to give reasons for this sort of thing, rather than just a list. I'll probably edit mine once all the entries are in, though.

Industrial Bastardization is going to win SHW, that's the only prediction I have now.

As have I. Hopefully that's everyone sorted, I don't think Sparkles is going to be seen any time soon.

Nope, you'll have to wait and see for that one- but then again, I can include waffles for dessert in the victory feast afterwards :D

Which reminds me...what do people think of Lethal Injection, here?
