So ya boy's hosting a tourney. I have all the details planned out, and renders of an arenas.

Sign up Info
This tournament will be using the Ruination Ruleset, so make sure to read it! There's a considerable amount of differences from normal ARC rules.

Weight classes: LW, MW
Arena: Super Grey Oval for most rounds
Final Destination for the semifinals and finals.

Notes for each arena:
Super Grey Oval
This arena has two active hazards and one passive hazard.
In the center of the arena, there's a static speedbump. If you stray too close to the ends of these speed bumps, you'll get launched into the air. If your armor is 6 or lower, you'll take minor damage. If your armor is 4 or lower, you'll take serious damage.
The starting squares (rectangles, really) start normal enough, but transform into pits with short walls. Your flipper needs at least 5 power to get bots after many tries, and 7 to get in consistently.

Final Destination
"But wait, how did you get an arena in space?"
Don't question it.
Anyway, this one's a pretty standard arena with no real hazards to speak of. The purple edges of the wall are sharpened and opponents may be dealt minor damage if shoved into it. There's also flat lexan panelling between each edge.
OOTAs are possible, but unlikely. You need a 7 powered flipper to get robots out after many tries, and a 9 powered one to get them out consistently. If a robot ends up out of bounds, a giant laser comes out of the bottom of the arena and blasts the offending robot to pieces.
----

Bracket setup: Basic double elimination. Maximum of 16 entrants in each bracket, you are allowed to enter just 1 of the 2 brackets if you so choose.
Word Limit: Strict limit of 400 words, not including stats and "gl hf"-type endings. You might be able to get away with 401 words if I don't decide to check your particular RP, but shit like this will <del>get called out and DQ'd pretty much instantly.</del> I've decided that instead of DQing people outright for excessively long RPs, I just won't acknowledge anything you write that extends past the 400 word limit.
Terrible, unfun gimmick: All robots must be based off of some form of media. If you're familiar with CBC2's "This is NOT a comic-con" rumble, it's essentially that.
Examples:
Hazardous Waste Removal is not themed off of anything, so it would be rejected.
Tongue of the Fatman is themed off of the MS-DOS game of the same name, so it would be accepted.
You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar But I Feel Like A Millionaire is clearly themed after a Queens of the Stone Age song, so it would be accepted.
Waifubots such as Renka and Remi III are legal. Same goes for husbandobots such as Dr. Robotnik. I will do seedings <del>and rig it so waifubots get top seeding</del> based off of the current rolling rankings placements.

Signups last from now until either Febuary 10th or after I get my entries in, whichever comes last.

Upon removing the saw and replacing the arm + skirts, it gets these stats:
Armor: 14 (arm and skirts are 14 armor, chassis and treads are 5)
Weapon: 5 (5 lifter, 0 saw because it's not attached any more)

Consider this a test of my R4 lineup. That or an excuse to use this LW here and bring Tidal Wave back for R4

Rear hinged flipper. The flipping plate is basically the entire top/front there, bordered by the gold trim (not the two gold lines in the middle, the gold trim on the outsides of the wheel and the top chamfer where the hinge is.). If need be I can draw on clearer boundaries in paint. Can be wedged from the front and the wheels are still on ground.

New "waifu" bot. :v: Meet Renka from Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. Her name literally means "lotus".

4WD. Hinged plow on a limiter, can be locked down if need be to act as a static wedge, or removed entirely, or put on the back of the machine, whichever. :v: Double hammers, not on the same axle (obviously), but powered by the same system. Has a static front wedge underneath the hinged plow so the hammers don't overbalanace her when she fires them. Can self-right. Also sports the "new" team logo.

My oldest LW returns from whatever competition it last ate shit in&#33; 2WD vertical drumbot with static wedgelets at the front a la Black Dog. Drum is reversible, and it can also flip itself using gyrodancing if need be. It's fully invertible, but it has no wedges when inverted. Drum motors are contained within the drum for ultimate compactness.

Against hammerbots/overhead weapons, Shade Fist has a set of H O O P S that it can attach. These are flexible and designed to absorb impact when struck.

something something the end is nigh. closest thing I have to a kedis/flea husbandobot. 4-bar flipper, wedges hinged, abr plow shock mounted. choice between wedges, abr plow, and forks. anti-hammer attachment can only be used with the forks. 1 power on the flipper lifts the robot 6 inches in the air, which is more than enough to allow Venice Queen to self-right as a Lightweight (as shown with the picture of it self righting), especially since it can fire the flipper while going at full speed in reverse to really get the momentum going.

I wanted to do something a bit different, so I went with a Complete Control - inspired design. It uses tracks for mobility to make good on the dismal failure that was my only previous tracked robot: Savage.

<hr />
Image

<hr />
The lifter is positioned a bit further back on the body to prevent overbalancing when picking something up. There are also a pair of removable skids under the black lifter pontoons for stability. Check the album linked in the title if you wanna take a look. Obviously, the bot can self-right.

<hr />
Image

<hr />
The flames come out of two nozzles and aren't just single-point things for pretty effects. They can actually do some damage with prolonged enough contact.

<hr />
Image

<hr />
The track system is a point of particular pride. I used a picture of the old Sherman tank outside of the army base where I used to train as a reference for them. They consist of 1083 individual components. Anyone is welcome to use them.

I thought that my team needed a bit of fun and whimsy, so here's a full-body drum in the mold of Barber-ous.

Not too much to say, since it's exactly what it appears to be. It's temporarily in Middleweight because I don't like Black Dog's chances in this meta.

The legislacerator is here, bitches&#33; 4WD front-hinged overhead flipper that's named and themed after Terezi Pyrope's ancestor from the webcomic Homestuck. Contrary to popular belief, Redglare isn't my main homestuck waifu, but Latula Pyrope is. Still a pyrope though. Uses a onboard air compressor to power the flipper and whatnot. Flipper and wedge run off the same system.

Also features a pure w0dge alternate setup, for dealing with spinners, or other more wedgy wedges. The pure w0dge setup can flip upwards, and press downwards, by the way.

Yeah she's returning, because CBC2 is in the name vortex as RB2, and i want to get one good tournament outta her after R.O.B.O.T.S. Also fuck you <del>Vovoka</del> Diablo Genesis, i'm getting my revenge. :v:

Armor: 9 (+2 front wedge - forward of the red line)

Additional images:
Wings extended and beak raised,
Underside view showing position of feet in middle of range of motion
Diagram showing how the walking mechanism works

Reference to: Chernabog, the monster from the Night on Bald Mountain sequence in Disney's Fantasia.

It's back. Chernabog returns. This time it's down a weight class, but it's still the same old walking crusher. The entire robot is hydraulically powered, driven by two brushless inrunners producing over 25 total horsepower, turning twin hydraulic pumps on the same shaft. One is a fairly low-flow 3000 psi rotary vane pump that drives the weapon and srimech, while the other is a 1000 psi centrifugal pump which can provide HUGE flow rates. The walking mechanism consists of four legs, two per side. Each has a long foot, which is attached to vertical rails by a parallelogram linkage, and to a double-acting hydraulic cylinder at each end. Basically, the foot will stay parallel with the floor, but by varying the cylinder positions it can be moved forward/backward and up/down independently. The robot's normal gait keeps one foot per side on the floor while the other is raised and performing a "recovery stroke" at all times. This system allows Chernabog to move at up to 10 miles per hour&#33;

The drive valve manifold can control the flow rate and direction of each cylinder, and is managed by a microcontroller which ensures that despite the nonlinear nature of the linkage the legs follow the correct gait. The normal walking gait moves each foot on a "flat-bottomed" loop, which minimizes vibration and keeps the robot's front wedge flush with the ground. The feet are located behind the center of gravity and are in a straight line, so they work essentially like a 2WD wheeled system. As an added bonus, Chernabog can be commanded to raise all its feet at once, dropping its sloped sides to the floor if a wedgebot gets around it. The manifold can also "short-circuit" the system, allowing fluid to be pumped back to the reservoir at low pressures if the drivetrain needs to be idle while the weapon or srimech are active.

The weapon has a similar manifold, but with far less control complexity - and again it can "short-circuit," allowing the pump to keep pumping if the robot is driving around and not using the weapon. The weapon itself is a massive crushing beak, made from welded AR400 plates and operated by a 3.5 inch bore, 5 inch stroke hydraulic cylinder with a 3:1 ratio. There's no fancy flamethrowers here, just raw power. It can crush with a force of just over 5 tons at the tip, and fit around opponents over a foot tall. The srimech uses a pair of smaller cylinders to open Chernabog's batlike wings - unlike most crushers, they are INDEPENDENT of the beak. Also, because they run off the same pump as the beak but the cylinders have a much smaller area, they can actuate pretty fast - Chernabog can self-right in well under a second, and they possess enough power to "flick" the robot onto its feet or onto its side by extending and then retracting if it gets stuck on its back, with the aid of a rear rollbar.

Chernabog has one more thing under the hood. The motors, ESCs, and even the valve manifolds generate a lot of waste heat, so a separate small motor runs a liquid coolant loop (uses brake fluid) to keep these components from overheating, and head is dissipated with an array of heat sink fins on the robot's top and back.

2WD thwack. Wheels are at ~60 degree angles from the center, and cambered to maintain traction. Its purposefully low torque and horribly placed wheels pretty much guarantee that it'll never reach anything close to its top speed in linear movement, and such low torque means it would take a while to reach that speed - but as far as rotational movement goes, top speed is no problem.
