Fuck you Facebook!
Fuck you Facebook!
Fuck this, lol, I was on Facebook earlier today, had received a scam e-mail related to the FBI and terrorism, or so, wanted to show it to you guys on Facebook, and a second later Facebook had blocked my account.
I am a Facebook terrorist now!
Now Facebook wants an image of my passport to undo the block. Sent that (hiding some details, THEIR suggestion, they were very clear about what details they needed to be visible). Later got a mail "we can't verify if you own the account, please send an image of your passport".
I... sort of did that?
Bleh.

Fuck you Facebook!
Ironically I have never had any urges to perform acts of terrorism but after this I'd quite like to drop a bomb on facebook!
(or, in case the FBI is reading this, no, not really, man I have to be so careful now...)

So, I did send a photo of my passport, hiding certain details, their request, I got this reply (translated from Dutch):
<small>"Your account has been disabled because you violated Facebook's regulations. Facebook does not allow users to send unwanted messages or create objects with the sole purpose of advertising a product or service or for enhancing sales.
Of one or more contents under your responsibility, we noticed they are being used for such activities. Examples include:
- The promotion of sharing, liking or clicking under false pretenses, defined as:
- Not providing the promised functionality
- Not delivering the promised reward
- Not directing to the promised content
- The promotion of sharing, liking or clicking, harming the safety of a user
- Asking for copying and pasting of JavaScript-code
- Maintaining pages solely used for promoting online giveaways
Sadly, we shall not be reactivating your account."</small>
... WHAT?!

I'm guessing any of us speaking on your behalf wouldn't do much good. >__>

I answered him, btw
"With all due respect, I have no idea what you are talking about.
You send me Facebook's rules, fine, but in no way do you explain how I violated them. In a way that's understandable, because I never violated the rules you mention. Could you please explain to me, specifically, how I violated the rules?
For the sake of completeness, I'd like to explain what I was doing when I was so suddenly banned. I regularly receive spam e-mails, scams, in my mailbox, and sometimes I see things there I find so remarkable that I want to share them with my friends. Yesterday I received such a messages, SUPPOSEDLY of the FBI, "Anti-Terrorist And Monetary Crimes Division", I wanted to quote this to my friends, it was about this text:
<small>"Anti-Terrorist And Monetary Crimes Division
FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C.
J.Edgar Hoover Building
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, Nw Washington, D.C. 20535-0001
ATTENTION: BENEFICIARY
This e-mail has been issued to you in order to officially inform you that we have completed an investigation on an International Payment in which was issued to you by an International Lottery Company. With the help of our newly developed technology (International Monitoring Network System) we discovered that your e-mail address was automatically selected by an Online Balloting System, this has legally won you the sum of $7.4million USD from a Lottery Company outside the United States of America. During our investigation we discovered that your e-mail won the money from an Online Balloting System and
we have authorized this winning to be paid to you via INTERNATIONAL CERTIFIED BANK DRAFT."</small>
Like I said, a text from an e-mail I find noteworthy enough to share with my friends on Facebook. If you want to, you can verify that the people I sent this to are indeed people who know me well, and that I have shared noteworthy mails with them on more occasions. Clearly, I was not advertising or selling anything, which is what you accuse me of, pity Facebook works like that."

<blockquote class='quote_blockquote'><dl><dt>MadBull</dt><dd>May 9 2016, 10:01 AM</dd></dl><div>why not?[/quote]Well typically these kind of large scale corporation types don't really bother with character witnesses. I guess I could be wrong, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

we'll see where it goes, I just held a reasonable plea I guess...
I am borderline positive, despite my account being disabled, I can still go to facebook and see my mail exchanges with facebook there
after the guy told me "we won't re-open your account!" it said, "case closed" on that page... after I ANSWERED the man with my plea, I just went to that site again, and it now says "case opened"
... that suggest some degree of reason

ok, got another reply
"Thank you for confirming your identity (I DID THAT STRAIGHT AWAY BUT WHATEVER). We reactivated your account and you can log in. You can do certain things to make sure your account won't be deactivated again:
- Confirm your account. Read here how to do this: LINK
- Upload a profile picture and use your real name and birth of date
- Only send messages and friendship requests to people you know personally
- Follow our rules: LINK
"
I am slightly annoyed that he STILL won't say what I did wrong... which is, you know, what I asked, but I guess I'm back.

... OK
So yesterday, I have sent my complaint in 2 ways, hoping to speed up the process. I had replied to the bloke who said "you broke the rules, you will stay banned", I also sent a SEPARATE mail by clicking the "my profile has been disabled, help me!", button. So yeah, hoping to get my profile back asap, I both responded to the existing procedure AND started a new procedure.
The response I spoke of in my previous post, I got through the existing procedure, by replying to the bloke who decided I had to stay banned because I wanted to sell things... he helped me in the end.
JUST NOW, I got a reply through the new procedure.

That is an EXACTY copy of the mail I received from the other guy earlier when he told me I'd stay banned! And this time it makes even LESS sense, at it now comes as a direct response to me saying I DID NOT do those things (whilst asking what I did SPECIFICALLY), and also because "we shall not be reactivating your account" is quite clearly BULLSHIT since, you know, my account HAS BEEN REACTIVATED.
