So I moved in December (actually pretty close to Paul/Minion) and in the process purged a lot of my childhood toys. I guess watching 3000 Pawn Stars reruns taught me nothing, because this seems to have been a huge mistake.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battle-Bots-Dea ... 5b1429cdf9

You gotta be kidding me. That actually has 16 bids with, as of now, 10 hours to go. That could easily fetch $100 at the current rate.

When these were being released, I had the majority of them. The grip'n'play ones weren't my thing, but I had all RC Bots, including the badass Diesector one, all build-your-own kits (including Deadblow and Ronin in this ebay auction) and even the kit where you could build Minion or Deadblow. I threw these away within 2 months of the revival being announced. Fuck my life, right?

I know I still have the Battlebots book (Official Guide I think it was called) and a sealed copy of the Game Boy Advance game. Which of course are both worth like $5. Not that I want to sell them - if anything the revival is making me want to rebuy shit.

I wish I had kept more of them, I know I destroyed some of them though (I know the build-your-own Backlash and Ronin were). I just can't believe how much these are going for. When I'm home from work I'm going through all my boxes to see what's left.

What about you guys? Do you still have any of these? Sold them? Tossed them out? Sacrificed them to other bots? I'm getting super tempted to re-buy some but I can't justify dropping $70 on a build-your-own Deadblow kit.

I think Chris might still have his somewhere. Handy if we ever wanted to do The Gemini Show again. :D

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

I only remember having the little McDonalds' versions of Overkill and Diesector.

Haha I didn't know they renamed them like that, that's pretty funny. Thanks for the welcome back too guys - give credit to Dylan, I had no clue these forums were still active.

It sucks that the two types I was into - the RC toys and build-your-own / Metal Mechanics - are both rare and expensive as hell. I can see why though - no kid was going to get those and not build them or play with them. I remember Vlad the Impaler being the by-far best RC toy - it could actually flip others over.

There's actually a remote-less Vlad for $15 on eBay - if I still have remotes I'm buying that (I think they're all interchangeable). Same with a Metal Mechanics Backlash for like $45... but I'm not telling anyone how much that costs when it arrives haha.

Whatever happened to that small bot you brought to ARCcon the one year? Old Chugger or whatever we ended up calling it that day lol

Hahaha Ol' Chugger. Whose weapon was a swinging 9volt battery flail - until I realized I put the dead battery in the battery slot and the useable 9volt battery wrapped in tape as the weapon. I remember Dylan's awesome antweight thing flipping him off of a chicken coop, and then dropping a massive chunk of concrete on it. Probably still flattened in Paul's yard.

I know a lot of stuff was lost over the years, most old image links are long dead... but on my old laptop, I still have all the pics from the original arccon, as well as a lot of random robot pics and .gifs. I need to start uploading this shit. I probably have some stuff that hasn't been seen in years.

Also somewhat on topic, I had no idea they made a Tazbot or Mauler Metal Mechanics toy. I need these haha.

I think I lost all the pictures I had from that first ARCcon outside of the group shot I put on Facebook.
