yellow bit on top is a clutch-powered front-hinged flipper, for self righting and some additional options. 2WD Horizontal spinner, as obnoxious as I could physically manage

Really didnt want to do homework, touched up a design I've had laying around for a while. for the zero of you that actually actively follow this build thread (:V), you may remember a robot I designed a while back called Blood Red Sky.

Evidence of Beavers

Image
Image
Image

it's a pseudo 4-bar lifter, based off of something I built in besiege, actually :v: . the front bars work as normal, for a 4-bar, but the rear is different, having a telescoping arm on a hinge instead of the usual other bars one would expect to find. this allows BRS to push its lifter into the ground to gain leverage (it pushes the lifter forewards as well as down, so I do benefit from it despite the wedge pontoons being aligned with it in the neutral position), and be completely invertable. probably can't self-right, which is only a problem in the anti-spinner configuration;

Image

shock mounted wedges (they're springy enough to be functional equivalents to a hinged wedge), safer arm design. drivetrain's still fully invertable but none of the wedges are

It's a 4WD box with a lifter. :v:

It should at least be effective, though, and you definitely know what you're doing with these sorts of designs.

4WD crusher on a lifter. hinged wedglets on the chassis help with stabilization, and are on a very limited arc. hydraulic crushing system is interchangeable with a pneumatic system (a la cutie honey) that allows for the jaw to snap down on opponents - sacrifices precision (and perhaps a bit of damage, though this isn't really reflect-able in the rules) for being able to catch peskily fast or well-armored opponents.

That first image is an anti-spinner plow... there was a good deal of extra weight left over even after over-armoring the plow to hell, so I'm also swapping in faster lifter motors, because 19 armor on the plow front is overkill enough :V

might give it a secondary weapon in this configuration instead... so more to come?

Heavyweight 4WD wedge with an assistant flipperbot. two options for the main bot- invertable wedge or plow (both hinged). also two options for the flippers; the triangle one on the left of the bottom image has no drivetrain, at all... it's designed to fit into the back corner of the ROBOTS starting square, and just hang out there. the one on the right has a pressing drivetrain (check out the album down below for an explanation/diagram) - this allows it to completely remove its wheels from the floor, therefore "pressing" on all 4 sides with the full weight of the robot. both have 12 points, taking 3 off of the main bot (I can only use one per match, so it's still at 27 points on the main bot). they can also right the main bot, though since they'll generally be hanging out by the OOTA zones, that might be a poor plan :V

previous version left a lot to be desired in terms of space, this one's much better on that front. it's still under 6 inches tall (the wheels are exactly 6 inches tall, actually). 4WD rear-hinged flipper - pnuematic with an on-board compressor, letting me skip out on saving space for large compressed air canisters (though I can only hold enough air for like, 5 flips at any given time. shouldn't ever cause issues though, the thing works quick). chassis wedge with a few interchangeable flipper arms. Forks, accompanied by removable hinged wedglets, a flat flipper wedge with removable wedge spikes, and an abr wedge/plow thing.

Tbh, looks a lot better in terms of space. Solidly built as usual. Very good
