I like your enthusiasm but I advise you to work on structure. These days abstract looking paint bots tend to fail simply because the writers (and other competitors) can't understand the design you are trying to convey. Paint bots can still be just as good as CADs, but you need to have some order to them. Look at Phil's bots to see what I mean.

On the other hand, Rhino is available for DL on this site. It's relatively user friendly and even comes with tutorials. I've used it for every design I have ever entered starting back at the first CFBB.

Life wouldn't be the same without Rhino. Truly a great and fairly easy to use program...

If you want to stick to paint, though, I might also suggest giving a shot at drawing bots in perspective/isometric view. I think AJ and Dylan (and me before CAD) do it that way and they look really nice.

Not sure if Dylan uses Paint, but AJ uses Google SketchUp now. Never tried SketchUp, but according to AJ it's a very easy-to-use CAD program. :)

It needs an activation code though. Or at least I ran into that problem.

The downloader should have the activation code ready. At least it did when I downloaded it.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Yeah, the serial is in the zip file as a notepad doc. As for paint, yes Dylan made some bad ass ones in paint but transitioned to photoshop.

Sparkey, what I'm saying is theres no sense of order or structure in those pics. It's all random and in most of them I can't infer what the hell they even are. To make paint work you need to be neater, take your time, use multiple views, and at least attempt to make profile views. A top view tells me very little about a bot (How tall is it? How much ground clearance? Approach and trail angles?) Most of my strategies (and most other peoples) are based on large ammounts of seemingly trivial data that makes up the total picture. Even the earliest paint bots from CFBB had more definition than yours. I'm not saying paint is bad; in fact it is more than sufficient, but you have to take your time and use more tools than just the freeform draw and color fill. With what you are doing now there's literally no way to be competitive, or even fair to everyone else.
