Eh, its okay, decent rock element, kind of long and repetitive and just gets a tad boring after a while. I'm gonna say 6.5/10

Really more of a comedy sketch than a song, but this song did chart, and I believe was the biggest hit on the singles' chart for Cheech And Chong. I'll give it a 7/10

Don't remember if I've done this one before, but since he died this past week, in memorial.

There is something about the 'standard' metal guitar tone that I find aurally displeasing for some reason, but notwithstanding that the second, Eddie Van Halen-esque guitar really lifts the song, along with Myles Kennedy's vocal stylings, and as it goes on it does get better and better - it is slightly out of my comfort zone but I have to admit it does develop into a very good song, so much so that the quite abrupt end verges on a disappointment. 7/10

Oy Philip, one of these days I'll learn you to embed videos. As for the song, at first I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but as it went on I got into it more. 7/10.

You can't really beat three minutes and forty seconds of pure condensed Antipodean nationalism in my book ;P This is a very good, quirky song, contrary to popular belief suitable for all year round and in all the countries of the world (except Britain when the Ashes are being decided) and I do like it - the only complaint one can really have, aside from excessive eucalyptus and koala bears, is that it feels a bit short. 7.5/10

[dohtml]<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VO_g9xPpJUM?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VO_g9xPpJUM?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>[/dohtml]

(thanks for the assistance with embedding btw)

EDIT: and after all that the embedding either doesn't work or isn't showing up for me...grr... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO_g9xPpJUM

It was an okay song, but made harder to listen to since the audio in the video was rather distorted. 5.5/10

Mean Green Mother From Outer Space?

Clearly meant to be comical, in a family-friendly, 80's (70's? early 90's?) kind of way, looking it up tells me it's from the comedy musical film called Little Shop of Horrors from 1986, and while I know little of that film, it all seems to fit. I deem it very likely a song like this carries extra weight when you have seen the movie, and heck, the movie IS praised, I just never have seen it. On it's own the song isn't hilariously funny yet it does swing, but is not a musical masterpiece. 6 out of 10.

Here is something for you, listen well, say what you think:

Well that answers the question: what do you get when you combine Seals & Crofts with Anne Murray? Still, the harmonies kept me from realizing until about halfway through that they weren't singing in English, so it's pretty good. 5/10

And now because I hate you all....

Philip...I am familiar with the song that Marti posted and was totally unaware it was entirely in Dutch, can you listen again just to confirm as I don't know of any Dutch that sounds exactly like 'sitting on the highway with a broken van, thinking of you again'?

As for the song posted, I have heard worse. There was a cover of 'Another Rock 'n Roll Christmas' by Gary Glitter playing when I went grocery shopping a few days ago, which is doubly disturbing because a] it is a great song totally ruined (I am aware of Gary Glitter/Paul Gadd's criminal offences, but I also think that a song should ultimately be somewhat detached from the personal life of whoever recorded it - and Another Rock 'n Roll Christmas is a great song) and b] given that Gary Glitter/Paul Gadd is a convicted paedophile, having a CHILDREN'S CHOIR covering it is just disturbing.

Anyway, it's nowhere near as bad as that. It is however bad. 2/10

as Joey rightfully pointed out, my song had a little curveball that often goes unnoticed

Alright, Joey, your song, very generic late 80's/early 90's, not my favourite era. Not my fave era. This song is very very well suited for feel-good sitcoms of the Friends kind, but sadly those arent my fave either. 4/10

(may I ask if doHTML is enabled for all users? Ive done everything right to embed a video here, browsed the internet to see what I might have done wrong, and found out that doHTML is potentially disabled for some user groups)

Cute, and catchy. I'll give it a 6/10

Famous B-Side... famous for its simplistic drum break in the middle, which has been sampled on thousands of hip-hop records.
